He mentioned to her that the qur'an says to kill (as you've posted) non-believers and those who leave islam. The lady (as all you muslims do) claimed this was a poor translation. I am a Christian, and think that there are pretty much the same number of flaws in both holy books.However- there is no place in this video that says the Kuran mentions the orbit of the earth.The quote given only mentions the Sun and the Moon and their orbits, back then people might have assumed that the Sun and Moon orbited around the Earth, and the Earth had no orbit. Therefore I don't believe this is any proof of insight. Still, Islam is cool by me.
As we can see, Quran gave so many great information about the future which proved to be true. You can see that in the examples. This shows that Quran has come from Allah, because there is no way a human being could know what will happen in the future. That is impossible.

MoMo had no more knowledge than that believed at the time. In addition, he made serious mistakes. An example is his belief that shooting stars are stars turned into missiles aimed at Jinn. Shooting stars are 'debris' enetering and burning up in the Earth's atmosphere. Stars are relatively large suns, not tiny twinkles as MoMo believed.

If you find such a verse, I should be very, very surprised. The Qur'an does not mention the Earth being in orbit. Muslims try and make out that the Qur'an says 'Night and day are in orbit', and they claim that 'Night and Day' means the Earth.

Religious texts have "modern" or "new" translations, which is just an excuse for changing the words to make it sound more consistent with science. The Bible, which changed the metal dome of the hebrew scriptures, first replaced it with "firmament," then with "sky." LOL! Muslim clerics do same with Quran, and you know it!
The original quran in arabic said only that the moon was a "light," not a "light [borrowed]," or a "light [reflected]."
By the way, I came across a muslim talking about the quran's declaration of a "dome" over the earth. He said it was scientifically correct cuz allah actually meant to say tent instead of dome, and a tent gives protection just like the atmosphere protects from radiation, so that's why allah said dome, when he meant to say tent cuz he really meant atmosphere ROFL!!

Here's why: 1) Aristarchus already proposed the heliocentric model few centuries BC (where the planets, including the Earth, orbit the sun). 2nd century AD, Ptolemy proposed the Geocentric model, which explained the universe better at that time, so this was the universally accepted theory throughout history up until the 16th century. Muhammad was illiterate, but he wasn't retarded...

This video is an imperfect word of man speaks about the Perfect Book of God: The Quran. Thus, no wonder of the imperfect video is not perfectly accurate.

Now, let's imagine for a second that I am wrong, and Islam is a great source of scientific knowledge (LOL!). The orbit of the earth around the sun is considerably more important to us than the orbit of the sun around the galaxy. Show where it says that the earth is of similar shape to the sun and moon, and that the earth also travels in an orbit.
Here's a part two for you. Let's say that the orbit was ambiguously stated. Show me where the rotation of the earth is mentioned, in order to clear up this ambiguity.

To be fair, I have no grudge against Islam. I am a Christian, and think that there are pretty much the same number of flaws in both holy books.However- there is no place in this video that says the Kuran mentions the orbit of the earth.The quote given only mentions the Sun and the Moon and their orbits, back then people might have assumed that the Sun and Moon orbited around the Earth, and the Earth had no orbit. Therefore I don't believe this is any proof of insight. Still, Islam is cool by me.

Religious texts have "modern" or "new" translations, which is just an excuse for changing the words to make it sound more consistent with science. By the way, I came across a muslim talking about the quran's declaration of a "dome" over the earth. He said it was scientifically correct cuz allah actually meant to say tent instead of dome, and a tent gives protection just like the atmosphere protects from radiation, so that's why allah said dome, when he meant to say tent cuz he really meant atmosphere ROFL!!

this was written is the Koran even before any scientist discovered it. since Koran is the only religious book where we can find only one version, it means it was never changed. so therefore nobody added these verses after scientist discovered it.
this is enough proof for a logical mind to understand the truth in the Koran and in Islam.

Here's why: 1) Aristarchus already proposed the heliocentric model few centuries BC (where the planets, including the Earth, orbit the sun). 2nd century AD, Ptolemy proposed the Geocentric model, which explained the universe better at that time, so this was the universally accepted theory throughout history up until the 16th century. Muhammad was illiterate, but he wasn't retarded...

2) NONE of these verses prove anything if you place them in a historic context. Read those verses again, imagining you accept the geocentric model (which was the standard, as I said).
"...They [Sun and Moon] swim along, each in an orbit": makes perfect sense in the Geocentric model, as they saw both the moon and the sun passing by, appearing they're each in an orbit.

@8elhaj "The sun runs to its resting place...": again, the sun appears to be in an orbit around the Earth, it comes up in the east and runs to the west, where it disappears...it runs to its resting place in the west.
"By the sky, full up paths and orbits": indeed, everything in the universe appeared to move around the Earth. It seems as if the sky is full of paths and orbits.

1) They describe what was widely accepted in that period of time (i.e. the Geocentric model, as I explained)
2) That these are magical verses, sent down from an invisible man to a man in the desert, which had absolutely no effect on scientific progress.
Because IF these verses are to be interpreted as shown in the video, why didn't anyone return to Aristarchus' heliocentric model or develop a new theory? Stop spreading this bullshit

First brother, Muslims and secular historians do consider the Bible as "corrupt" since there is historical proofs for that. the other proofs is that there are scientific, mathematical and historical errors. if you say the bible is not corrupt at least to some level, is like saying GOD is incorect and inperfect.
Second, no muslims do not point that towards Mecca. They point their head towards it. thats amazing since every single muslims points it towards the same place when which helps unity

This video is an imperfect word of man speaks about the Perfect Book of God: The Quran. Thus, no wonder of the imperfect video is not perfectly accurate.
Tons of collisions happen in the universe. Also, its complexity and the orbits, paths in it are amazing to the obervers. I think the neatness of the universe is obviously clear. And if any collide its by the Will of the Creator; The-God, Who implemented laws and systems that permits collusions in this universe..

On another note; Bukhari is a HISTORIAN writing about the speeches of Prophet Mohammad. Bukhari book is not holy by Muslims, as it's a man's word, and not God's Word. Quran is Perfect. The teachings of Prophet Mohammad are in harmony with it. Bukhari do mistakes as any other scholars.

Religious text has been rewritten to catch up with science. Unfortunately, they are doing a bad job. If you compare any written religious text from 2 centuries ago you'll see that it's different. Heck, my grandma's bible is different than today's bible.
BTW, the Qu'ran really isn't that old in the scheme of things.

Now, let's imagine for a second that I am wrong, and Islam is a great source of scientific knowledge (LOL!). The orbit of the earth around the sun is considerably more important to us than the orbit of the sun around the galaxy. Show where it says that the earth is of similar shape to the sun and moon, and that the earth also travels in an orbit.

bcoz each is traveling in an orbit means both are traveling on their own paths and thats why day doesnt come when its night and night doesnt coem when its day get it? in other words day cannot overcome or overtake the night and night cant overtake or overcome the day, so saying sun doesnt overtake the moon and moon doesnt excel the sun.

and you said about colliding that how do they not collide. well havent you read the next part of the same verse that basically says they each have an orbit. which means they are traveling on their own paths. quran doesnt say both are floating in the same orbit but actually it says EACH IN AN ORBIT which means both have paths or orbits.
