At this point, who's to say the police weren't interfering with citizen communications? What irony, the government supports Twitter, YouTube and Facebook because it serves their interests to topple the Iranian regime. However, they hate Twitter, YouTube and Facebook because they could also expose the undesirable activities and behaviors of our elected officials. Information is a viable weapon against tyranny, whether it's foreign or domestic. I'm grateful for these social websites, because they could promote accountability from exposure to vital information.

Nobody uses twitter. My kids don't use it. It is a creation of the Pentagon that they can control, dominate and spread disinformation. Nobody in Iran used it in the vote protests. Thousands of tweets were from one source in Israel. In Afghanistan, nobody uses cell phones, tweets or any high tech stuff because they know its monitored and tracked. They use face to face communication and they are kicking ass.There are predator drones circling overhead monitoring communications, waiting to strike.
