  • many thanks to youtube for collating the "mixes" ... saves me the time & effort to find these videos myself ...

  • Good old day's. 1960, this was and is great musica. Were ever you are Mr. Raul Martinez, Bronx,N.Y. 1963........... Desde Mayaguez, P.R.

  • some don't like being reminded of their African roots, while others take pride in them....whitewashing at its worst!

  • saludos boris, tremenda coleccion que tienes, gracias por compartir.

  • Muchas gracias' boricuajazz8 . . . .. its beautiful to hear n see true, classic Latin Jazz music . . .

  • nice!!! viva mongo!

  • love this song never heard it until today

  • mas seria esa cancion

  • Very Nice song!!! Tight!

  • you'd think a video of mongo santamaria playing might actually show mongo santamaria playing. but in this case, you'd be wrong.

  • Yes, the trumpet was fantastic, but you see Mongo for a total of 3.2 seconds with no closeups!

  • @DJcaliban i also agree with your opinion about not showing mongo its kinda disrespectfull not even one glimpse of him you can see him in the shadows almost.. now i wish the guy that took this video could explain to MONGO why he did not capture him in the video.? did he knew who mongo was or i should say is??now try this with any big stars like james brown, tom jones, fela kuti and you will see how long he would be on this job??.

  • @DJcaliban its a good thing that MONGOS trademark conga slaping is enough proof that he was indeed there and that we are bless to recognise that thunderous and hipnotizzzing slap..GOD bless you all..

  • @DJcaliban I hear you brother, but you can damn sure hear him, Thge sound is pretty good for you tube.

    Nice to see this.

  • exelente fantastico

  • gracias boricuajazz!!!

  • The cup used on the trumpet is definitely not a mute it is in fact a toilet plunger to give a wa wa effect. a mute is a cone placed directly into the bell. But this is a common practice used a lot the big band setting in the 40's

  • Funny that the trumpeter is using that toilet thing (I don´t know the english word) as a cup^^

  • That is not any toilet thing stupid, it's called a "plunger mute".

  • @boricuajazzz8 Thx 4 schooling him...........

  • @boricuajazzz8 would a plunger mute work on a toilet if you stuck a stick on it? stupid?

  • @boricuajazzz8 jajajajajajaja good answer my firend jajajajaja

  • It's a mute. $1.49 plunger mute is much cheaper than the $35 "proper" mute.

  • @LL99LL

    ahahahahahah toilet thing... so retard...

  • @LL99LL ,YOU'RE NOT STUPID,he "DID" use" that toilet thing"...the Plunger,INSTEAD of a Proper Trumpet muter.

  • Plunger

  • Excelente trompetista, hay que reconocerlo, pero ¿donde esta Mongo?

  • Que mucho joden! Estupido en el video clip, Where's Waldo...

  • @HADESXV what instrument play Mongo? think a little

  • DONDE ESTA MONGO??

  • Otro que hace la misma pregunta... Quieren ver a Mongo busca mis videos del Budda All-Star y no J... mas.

  • Where's Mongo??

  • Are you dumb or what? He's playing congas...

  • um...i think hes referring to the fact that they never show him in the video? You can hear him though, but no surprise someone didn't see him.

  • It's funny he is never seen on camera.
