@LittleSn00py Nietzsche was critical of Spinoza in the sense that he thought his writing in the geometric method was unnecessary (Nietzsche wasn't a Spinoza scholar, and there a whole history as to why Spinoza used that style). Nietzsche is also critical of all rationalists and metaphysicians. However, there are many similarities in the philosophical views of Nietzsche and Spinoza, and Nietzsche was quite astonished to find this out once he read Spinoza's Ethics, thus his admiration.

@alifeofreason He made a disparaging remark about Spinoza as a person in "Beyond Good and Evil". Their ethical views couldn't be more different.
