  • man

    i love these so much

i wish they kept making these.

Please bring The day in 100 seconds back.

  • Liberal? Its pathetic. The Us has still nott reached beyond the libetralism of the 19th century. In Europe half of the people are proud SOCIALISTS, not liberal. Liberal? ITs in the centre, american idiots.

  • I agree and hope America becomes more of a Socialist society

  • I must admit: After seeing the US Ambassador to the UN, Susan Rice... it moved a little.

  • nice editing on Obama, you take out all those pauses in his speeches

  • Obama's the Antichrist

  • You're in a cult. Wake up!

  • Isn't the guy who lost under house arrest?

  • Sadly, I don't think this should come as a surprise. The religious mulahs actually running the country are not going to give even a bit of power to someone they might not control.

  • we should invade Iran and bring "Iraqi" style democracy to Iran.....

    fat chance

  • Oddly enough we would have a better chance at doing that in Iran than Iraq.

Iran is already democracy, but its under attack by the hard liners within the country who want to lessen the freedoms democracy has given them.

So as you can imagine about 75% of the population knows what democracy is and the benefits of it and the loss if it goes away, there would be a huge support for restoring a normal democracy from the population.

Unlike Iraq where democracy was alien to them.

  • "Iran is already democracy, but its under attack by hard liners within country who want lessen freedoms democracy"

    1. That is for Iranian people to decide, not people from outside.

    2. America is already a democracy too, but it is under attack by the right wing, Christian hard liners within the country.

America is not qualified to be spokesperson to preach for "human rights" & "democracy" around the world.

We need to rebuild our country first, before even attempt to rebuild other countries.

  • You are seriously lacking in perspective:

    1. American democracy is not "under attack," and America doesn't have a supreme ayatollah who has the final say on any matter.

    2. America has been the leading (government) proponent for human rights for over 60 years, since FDR wanted to give HR a central position in the UN.

Yeah, we've made some mistakes and we've lost some credibility, but if you honestly look at our system, we make a GREAT (albeit not perfect) spokesperson.

  • You're somewhat right on the first point.

But was the US advocating human rights when it at some point supported:

Abacha, Amin, Banzer, Batista, Bolkiah, Botha, Branco, Cedras, Cerezo, Chiang Kai-Shek, Cordova, Christiani, Diem, Doe, Dualier (1+2), Fahd bin' Abdul-'Aziz, Franco, Hitelr, Hassan, Marcos, Martinez, Mobutu, Noriega, Ozal, Pahlevi, Papadopoulos, Pinochet, Pol Pot, Rabuka, Montt, Salassie, Salazar, Somoza (1+2), Smith, Stroessner, Suharto, Trujillo, Videla, Zia Ul-Haq, et al.?

  • You're right to point out many of those names. It's unfortunate that HR often has to be sublimated to other geopolitical concerns.

But this is a problem ALL countries have, even the Europeans. Who were the first countries to back away from sanctions against China after 1989? NOT the US. If you were a minority, would you rather live in the US or a random W. European nation? Most often, the US.

Among all states of the world--especially large, influential ones--the US looks relatively good.

  • America, ambassadors of Human Rights around the world........hahahahaaaaaaaaaa, GOOD ONE!

America and Human Rights are not exactly synonymous. We are just clever enough to hide our human right violations and misdeeds.

Americans discriminates, segregates and enslaves Americans of different race, religion, ethnicity, and gender. Therefore, I am not surprised, when I hear Americans tortures Iraqis and detainees under the mask of freedom, Democracy and HUMAN RIGHTS (that is a big one!).

  • Abu Gharib Torture Vid's.....Enjoy and watch it at your leisure!

Warning: The videos are long and GRAPHIC...

But it will help you to decipher the meanings of BIG letter words and phrases such as "HUMAN RIGHTS, FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY".

    /watch?v=rz7UNxnOI3M&

    /watch?v=MQ0x5ZLbeqQ&

    /watch?v=s3l170cMRDQ&

  • Qualified to preach Democracy and Human Rights around the world???

    Not even close!!!

  • Yeah, how about the convictions AFTER those horrible incidents? Every country has its pricks--judge a country on how it REACTS to those pricks. Yeah, the US has made BIG mistakes and has often failed to live up to its rhetoric, but you can' t even begin to compare it with Iran.

Maybe you should expand your research beyond youtube and wikipedia. Start with "Rights Beyond Borders," by Rosemary Foot. Maybe then we can have a mature discussion.

  • "Maybe you should expand your research beyond youtube and wikipedia." - ledwalrus

Maybe, we should take the big log that is sticking out of our own eyes first, before even attempt to take speck out of somebody else's eyes.

Maybe, we should try to rebuild our nation first, and never again rush to war under false pretenses and rebuild middle eastern countries.

Maybe, we should repair our damaged reputation and work toward peace .

Maybe, we should practice what we preach, for a change.

  • Yeah, let's tell imprisoned Chinese dissidents that we're going to stop petitioning Beijing for their release while we work on our problems. Let's stop agitating for HR in Sudan, Zimbabwe and Myanmar. Let's leave the UNHRC to protest the Israel-bashing rather than trying to reform it (oops... too late for that).

We may have a log in our eyes, but there are goddmn Oak trees in others' eyes out there.

    C'mon--get real.

  • Wow! It sounds like you haven't learned a thing from Bush's Iraqi blunder Invasion, promoting democracy and freedom in middle east.

We cannot solve any or all global problems by ourselves, if there is no global support for our actions. Instead, we will be perceived as Imperialist invaders who hides behind the phony mask of "democracy" and "freedom".

People will become suspicious of our motives. We will not be greeted as Liberators, instead we will be seen as Invaders of any country.

  • and now that is "C'mon--get real" kind of talk!

  • Maybe, I should stop being so critical before being labeled "Unpatriotic" and "Terrorist."

    That my friend...HURTS!

  • You seriously are unpatriotic.

GWB was the best President this country ever had.

    Obama hates white people.

  • "You seriously are unpatriotic."

Having lived through King George's 8 year reign, I am not surprised and can fully understand why you say that....

    heck with freedom of speech!

  • lol... I hate guys like rush limbaugh and hannity and o'reilly because they're so intellectually dishonest and partisan, but i'm realizing more and more that both sides of the spectrum suffer from this problem. YOU are being a partisan (i.e. "he disagrees with me, so he must be a neo-con!") and you are being intellectually dishonest--"the US has no right to promote HR and democracy."

I applaud your heart and your conscience, but you seriously need some perspective.

  • No. No one on the left can articulate their views as well as those on the right.

    right > left

  • Comment removed

  • tel-lie-vision is everywhere

in iran, in china, in the us

  • Yes, they can have "close" elections where the loser wins, just like the US.

  • Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is going to win this Election (George Bush style)...

    He's GOING TO STEAL IT...!!!

Or at least try too... The numbers are already shifting over in his favor in an odd fashion considering most Iranians dislike him and want a more moderate leader.

  • So Who won?

  • What I have been saying all along: Ahmadinagad wasn't elected the first time, but somehow he was declared the winner. Did anyone expect them to change? They've done it again, this time.

  • "...or the moderate, who knows how to keep his mouth shut."

Uhh, speak softly but carry a big stick? Couldn't he be really quiet, but blow something up anyway?

Besides, the 'Supreme Leader' of Iran controls the foreign policy, not the President, so why does it matter who won the election?

  • ahmedinijhad will try to rig it

  • 0:44 WTF is up with that guy's mustache. Damn! Also huge fail in Iran reminds of Truman vs. Dewey when several papers printed the story of Dewey winning.

  • what mroe do you expect from muslims? give them a free land and they will kill each other rather than negotiate. i wouldnt be surprised if this gets bloody. but i shouldnt speak, bush didnt win the first election.

  • Bush did too win - it was 5 to 4. lol

  • Umm... Anyday now? You guys need to wake the fuck up man.. This is a clear example of our Media NOT reporting News!!

    You guys want real news?

Russia,China, and Brazil are dumping the USD for IMF'S!!

(Barack Obama and George Bush have set us up for slavery!! You guys can go research this yourselves... I'm not a conspiracy theorist or anything like that but Shits getting ugly!!)

  • time to learn a third language, i guess.

  • "Russia,China, and Brazil are dumping the USD for IMF'S!! "

You don't even know what that means, do you?

Russia, China, and Brazil are buying International Monetary Fund bonds in order to diversify their portfolio and to enable the IMF to loan money to emerging economies. This is nations helping nations and the US does it too.

They are not "dumping the USD". That statement doesn't even make sense considering Brazil, China, and Russia all use their own currency.

  • Not to be disrespectful or anything like that but.. the last time I checked our Country was $11 TRILLION DOLLARS in Debt (and counting) so what makes you think that THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA is helping emerging economies when our ECONOMY is in knee deep of shit!!??

    (I don't get? sarcasm)

Trust me dude.. Russia,China, and Brazil don't need us!!

  • So you think being in debt is the same as being broke?

Aren't you in debt right now in some way? Car? Credit cards? House? Student loans? Anything?

So if you have a mortgage, credit cards, and car payments does that mean you have ZERO money to invest in anything else?

Not to be disrespectful, but this is common sense.

  • Two guys claiming to win? Didn't this happen in a little piss-ante back-water banana republic called the US a few years back?

  • As soon as I heard there was going to be an Iranian election I KNEW some kind of corruption, rigged election accusation bullshit was going to happen.

  • Really?

  • Michael Bolton is like Wilford Brimley's evil brother.

He's also an irrelevant douchebag, but we all know that already.

    Peace to ALL.

    Viva Obama! ;-)

  • Wonder if they have Acorn ....

  • The mullahs are the final authority in Iran, so whoop-de-whoop.

  • fox is stupid :/

  • Democracy, Iran Style, aka: it doesn't matter who wins

  • Really? I thought that was the US democratic process...

I guess we do have common ground :-)

  • The U.S. doesn't have an Ayatollah.

    Nice try though.

  • No the U.S. doesn't have an Ayatollah.

But it has international banks, corporations, and their countless lobbyists that live in washington and take part in nearly every decision that is made there.

The US doesn't need an Ayatollah when It has the almighty dollar.

  • can't be two winner the same time , why they waste paper since we know who is going to be the winner !! what do we call this democracy or demo-crazy

  • That editing you guys are doing was fun for a while... now you're doing it way too much.

  • wtf

  • What is with Rick Sanchez and Twitter?

  • Democratdemocratdemocratdemocrat prrrrrrrrrrrrrresident :D

  • uhoh....conflicting reports? doesn't sound good...

  • Iran is looking like BUSH/GORE 2000

*maybe they'll have a long drawn out recount too!

  • Uh oh, whats the tobacco bill?

As a smoker, I know it's probably not good news for me.

  • As a smoker, you should probably stop. Just something you should probably do in the meantime.

  • zndprophet, It would give the FDA the ability to regulate tobacco.

    Watch out for e.coli-tainted cigarettes.

  • Oh noes! They're gonna put BAD STUFF...in my cigarettes?

I wouldn't smoke cigarettes if they were loaded up with all sorts of extra chemicals!

    *sarcasm*

Good, keep the fucking additives out of my tobacco.

  • After all, Phillip Morris would never try to hurt me. They are just trying to make an honest buck.

The government though-they want to kill me.

    *sarcasm*

  • I dunno. I heard that Fred Flintstone died of lung cancer after smoking too many Lucky Strikes. (Dick Tracey, too.)

  • No, I meant they're in charge of food safety, yet tainted ground beef, tainted spinach, tainted peanuts.

  • You know I don't think they have the FDA in 3rd world countries, where people get sick and die all the time from simply eating tainted foods that were produced with no oversight.

  • In countries without oversight, things are tainted all the time, in other words.

Sometimes here, a few things get past them, especially in perishable, minimally processed foods. Thats incompetence, not malice.

  • "Thats incompetence, not malice."

It wasn't incompetence, it was "stealth deregulation." The Bush Administration didn't believe in regulating industry, but instead of abolishing the regulatory agencies, they simply put people in charge of them who were committed to not doing the job. That was true of the FDA, SEC, EPA, DOJ etc.

  • Actually, you're right about that. I forgot about that. I don't remember a whole lot of tainted foods during the 90's.

  • I don't have the numbers here, so I can't quote them, but during the Bush Administration the number of drugs and foods that were actually TESTED dropped quite dramatically, as did the number of EPA violations. The number of civil rights cases brought by the DOJ dropped to practically nothing...and I don't need to tell you what the SEC was NOT doing all those years. (ie-NOT checking on people like Madoff.)

  • Madoff would have never been caught if not for the crash. Obama is not about to keep a closer eye on rich thieves either.

  • there were also less illegals here

  • That's all we need, more government control over industry. It gets harder and harder to find someone who smokes every day. Government oversight isn't necessary if stopping people from smoking is their goal.

  • Why do you think industry is any less sinister than government? thats what I don't get.

When it comes to smoking especially-it's in Phillip Morris' interest to put all sorts of extra stuff in my cigarettes to keep me addicted.

It's not really in the FDA's interest to put stuff in my cigarettes, unless you believe they are downright evil & malicious.

  • They haven't even counted the votes, and they are both declaring victory? We will see the fireworks tomorrow, hopefully things will remain peaceful.

  • wow he didnt totally ignore her , he turned around, came back down and answered. He amazes me everyday. I dont ever remember a pres. doing that, they totally ignore any and all things after they start to walk away, Bush did it even before walking away.....

  • meh.... guess we have to wait til tomorrow what will happen... but don't get your hopes up

  • Why does any media outlet give John Bolton a platform?????

  • Ratings. He's long on entertainment, short on common sense.

  • women can vote in iran!?

  • Why's that surprising?

  • its a muslim nation

  • And Muslims hate freedom?

  • Women can not only vote in most of the Muslim nations, but two of them (Pakistan and Turkey) have already had female prime ministers. Women in Turkey have had the right to vote since 1934.

  • Neocons LOVE Ahmedinejad!

What will the warmongers do without him?

  • They will create strawman that his opponent is the exact same thing and scare the shit out of americans just the same. You will hear "walk quietly and carry a big stick" and you will hear "the quiet peaceful talking ones are the ones you have to worry about not the loud talkers like Ahmedinejad" you just watch! They will NOT let the fear machine go.
