I heard this song once when I was 15 and didn't hear the artist I looked in specialty record stores in NY but could never find it I only knew the time it came out because Marvin Gaye's "Pride and Joy" was played at the same time I thought I'd never find it but the internet and in particular youtube make anything available Thanks for the posting
I heard this song one time on NY radio I knew the time because I remembered that Marvin Gaye's Pride and Joy was out at the same time some time later a year or two I didn't know the artist and I went to the three stores in NY that had huge stocks of old 45s but nobody could tell me anything I finally found it on the internet and it's obvious that the powers that shut down napster and limewire may have won some battles but the war is lost Thank God!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much for all your efforts
@emb1st Jackie is alive and well and has been made aware of his many fans' concern for his well-being. He thanks everyone for the love expressed here and elsewhere throughout the Internet.
However, at this time he does not wish to re-enter public life.
I hope he can be convinced to "come out" again as it were.
Thank you for salvaging this masterpiece. There were so many androgynous major talents around in the early phase of black pop music. This version is far superior to Dee Clark's harmless ditty. "In this tenement this poor boy is a queen": Cute.
Wait a minute. This is a woman.

damn: talk about a great recording....
how many singles and lp's were released by this talent?
emb1st 2 years ago
Just one LP -- Live at the Sapphire.
Most tracks are available here on YouTube -- just check under GerryLincoln.
Most of the singles are here now too -- except for a bad recording of "Money (That's What I Want).

I'm quite the opposite. I think that the background singers are great, making this one super record!

Some cool stuff in here. But those backing vocals do a lot of harm.

If you think the backround vocals are harmful
just have a look at the so called dancers behind him on the WALKING THE DOG video.
Funny actually, but in spite, Jackie is still great.
