Are people whom likes drinking and people whom likes discover wakefiled or spending time in active way. I recommend Thornes Park or small trip around the Park Lodge Natural Reseve. Is good way to chcek stanley ferries along the river. In my polish opinion Wakefield Cathedral is one of the best in England. Generally Wakefield have a lots of museums (for example Coal Mine museum). Generally people are kind and helpfull.

Im from Outwood, just outside of Wakefield town centre. Lived here all my life, im 21. It is a nice place to live because we have excelent rail and bus services which connect us to most of yorkshire and the rail system to leeds, Doncaster, London, Scotland ect.. Wakefield has everything you need, Schools, Colleges, decent shops, pubs, clubs, art gallerys, parks. I dont see what else i need, apart from a Debenhams perhaps lol

Been to Wakefield several times, pretty average place, but not as grim as some northen towns, but I would not want to live there.
Sorry but being a Southerner, towns are less depressing than ones up north.
