  • What about the trucks that used sit idling out the front of may apartment window every morning with their indicators on, waiting for the lights to change.... "Turning left, please be careful" every 3 seconds or so.

  • @TheJapanChannelDcom I'm guessing its also because the services are considered "female"... do they have male voices for things that are more "commanding"?

  • probably because it sounds more calm and less intimidating

  • @bonecrime I do not know if it is the reason here but female voices are thought by most shrinks to have more authorithy ( the "mommy says" thing), computers in airplanes do use female voices often for that reason.
