  • Great playing - I wish I could "ruin" a tune like that! I was wondering - if you only had the sadowski and the polytone - would you basically have the same tone? ie - is it mostly in the sadowski or are you relying heavily on the effects for tone shaping?

    Thanks -

  • @soup2nuts1 Thanks for the comments :) I think the delay and reverb, though not really to the front of the sound, do warm it up a fair bit.

  • Beautiful sound, wondreful phrasing.

  • Hi - very nice playing and sounds. Just got me a SH Beautiful guitar. What strings are you using to get those lovely sounds? Thanks for posting this great vid.

  • Excellent!!!

  • i was looking at the wampler buffer. i usually run about 8 to 10 pedals soem through the loop and the rest in front of the amp. does the buffer make a big difference in keeping you're natural tone?

  • so wonderful !!

  • stop sounding like Rosenwinkle ... get your own sound!

  • Killer tone and phrasing. I'm glad I stumbled across this. Cheers!

  • nice tone and elegant playing!!

    regards from Chile

  • Nice playing and sounds!

  • Great playing and pretty good sound!!! Congrats!

  • How well does that Clean Buffer work? I'm thinking of just getting a Visual Sounds Clean Boost to help with the signal drop off but don't want to really get it if I'm just going to leave it on all the time. Is the Clean buffer worth it?

  • Love what your doing there Jim - the sound is so natural in spite of all the bits and

pieces between the guitar and amp !

  • WOW! Great modern flavour to your lines!

    Also, your tone is killer!

  • all great!!!

  • I've seen some of your other videos... very cool, hip phrasing, in there with the new cool crowd... Van Ruller, Kreisberg, Moreno... come play in the states sometime! Will look for your CD.

Have you played the Sadowsky Jim Hall? Can't quite let go of my L5, but think the laminate top might be more versatile. I have a GB10 as well, but it doesn't sound like Jim Hall. Need one of everything!

  • Beautifull sound, and playing, Can I ask what amp are you going through?

    Thank you

    RS

  • Great playing!

  • I was wondering the same thing about the clean buffer. Thinking I need one in my loop. Ever take it out and compare the with and without? It is probably really subtle.

  • nice playing.

but why show us your pedal board when you don't step on a single thing?

  • Fantastic. You are very refined...

  • Hey great playing!

I would like to know more about the Clean buffer you are using, could u comment on it?

Is it plugged after the guitar following the other effects?

  • Thanks :) It's first in the chain. It's supposed to preserve the signal through the length of the chain...I guess it works...I think...

  • @jondelaneyjazz can you hear a difference with and without it?

  • Very nice, great playing. Sadowsky sounds great

  • Lovely! Is that a Sadowsky you're playing?

  • yep. Thanks for listening.

  • I've really been digging this clip, Jon. What made you choose the Wampler Analog Echo over the Wampler Faux Tape Echo (same circuitry, but with modulation, too). I've been using a Line 6 DL4, but have been considering either one of the Wampler units, or an Empress Modified VIntage delay (about $450, very hard to find, but supposed to be the closest thing to an Echo Plex, without actually getting a tape delay).

  • Thanks for listening. Didn't consider the Faux Tape Echo - wasn't thinking I'd need modulation. AnalogEcho is brilliant though.

  • @SPGGuitar251 I keep coming back to this clip as a model for a great modern jazz tone. Very well done, Jon.

  • Sounds great.

If you want to post yourself playing to a metronome, I will edit myself playing piano chords and we can jam around the globe!

  • Great playing, enjoyed your clip

    RS

  • So what is the best string gauge for this guitar in your opinion? 12,13?

  • Not sure there is a "best gauge", but I'm using 13's, which I like at the moment. Thanks for listening. Jon.

  • Excellent playing and great tone.

  • great playing.

  • Great tune and great playing.
