  • do they really end their carrer as an iron chef if they lose??

  • Ahh crap, I don't know who to root for! I love Sakai's plating designs, but I adore Morimoto's originality in his dishes (especially his playful and riskful dishes).

  • This shit is the mother of all VS. cooking food that sprouted all across US of today

  • haha... mama's food, joy in cooking, focus.... all these goals pale in comparison to the "i want to be the king of iron chef' goal

  • Morimoto and Sakai.. my two favorites... Morimoto because his dishes are so inventive and original, Sakai because of his passion, humor, the look on hisface when he sees the ingredient, and just pure love of cooking.

  • Allez Cuisine!

  • Comment removed

  • Mr Chairman Kaga cracks me up.

  • kaga is the freaking boss! i love the freaking suspense they OD w/ when they unveil the secret ingredient lol

  • I think it would of been more epic if the peppers got saved for the final battle : /

    Either way still epic.

  • The guy who kept eating mushrooms is sooo disturbing 00'

  • furenchi no tetsujin!

  • iron chef america is sooooo lame...especially the frikin host -_-

  • Takeshi can eat alot of thing in hilarious way...lmao

  • Morimoto is like ..."crap..." *digs into mind to figure out good bell pepper dishes* lol

  • i know the chairman is sad that the kitchen will close.. i would be if i were him..... but wow.. that mushroom gorging was epic sadness :(

  • i know! that was disturbing. i guess the closing of kitchen stadium = a bad breakup. the mushrooms = ice cream.

  • Best program ever! Love cooking. :)

  • i think the second tournament shoulda been battle fish cause both french and japanese food have alot of fish

  • Yeah, but Morimoto would've had his ass handed to him there. Sakai is king when it comes to fish. Vegetables will certainly keep things interesting...

  • One chef challenger used $1000 worth of lobster to FLAVOR his dish, then didn't even use them.

Certainly, it is a decadent life the Chairman lives!

  • LOL "if memory serve me right...."

  • sakai is a freaking legend

  • There is no such dish as bell pepper sushi made by Morimoto.

  • 2:38 damn...

  • Freud 1:48

  • I was thinking the same thing.

  • it's kind of unfair. i mean i know sakai is better. but the pork favoured chen, and now the peppe favours sakai lol....no wonder morimoto looked sad whilst sakai was overjoyed. haha

  • Nah, Morimoto was keeping his game face on. Sakai was laughing because-why else-the ingredient is all about Kaga!

While pork favored neither Chen nor Kobe (pork is used extensively in Italian, especially Northern Italian, in which Kobe specilizes), bell pepper ever so slightly favors western over East Asian. On the other hand, as we shall see, Morimoto is not your typical Japanese chef...

  • I feel the pepper should've been final instead of semi final. It would've been more fitting. At least for the semi final, charman kaga could've done something else.

  • regarding the pork, it's also used a lot in italian cooking as well. chen was just better. (i mean, he IS the dominating chef in number of wins)

  • Lol, after the Chairman said that he sometimes bites into the theme ingredient, I knew it was bell pepper. I think everyone did :)

  • they took out the armageddon music for morimoto's rise, GRRR!

  • Sakai is gonna whoop ass.

  • Yeah, I have to say, this episode and the last were just for show. I haven't seen the end of this one, but would be shocked out of my mind if Sakai didn't win. The real showdown will be the last, between Chen and Sakai

  • I thought they used bell peppers before...

  • they have definitely used this before...it was a german guy (Rutter? someone check it) vs. Michiba (?), and Michiba amazingly lost

  • Yep, you're right.

  • kaga said that their r gonna use something those two haven't used before

  • @rvdfan56 well i think he meant something neither sakai nor morimoto have used b4 in kitchen stadium

  • It's about to get insane... I want to see Chen vs. Morimoto

  • Ok, I can't help comment on the Kaga stuffing himself with mushrooms... TOO funny...!! wouldn't they taste really bland raw?

  • They looked like they were grilled on a little hibachi. But even raw, mushrooms can be a very flavorful and diverse food.

  • Don't diss Kaga.

  • LOL

  • No he isnt sayin g his name he is saying the name of the main commentator. Kenji Fukyi. He says FukyiSan which means Mr. Fyuki.

  • I like both the iron chefs though....

i dont want either ones to loose. ..

  • The general and his peppers

  • I totally want to go to Japan and eat at any of the Iron Chef's resturants. Especially Sakai's and Chen's resturants. Thanks for the uploads even if the show has been over for 7 years...who cares...Iron Chef rocks.

  • morimotos got one in ny, one in philly and one in atlantic city. i ate at the one in philly its a crazy restaurant. the booths are flourescent and the whole restaurant changes color. he has a beer also, made by rogue

  • Definitely go to the one in Philly though. It's supposed to be a LOT better than the one in New York.

  • i went to the one in philly. sadly i was too young to fully appreciate but the food was amazing. the kobe beef was soo amazing, literally melted. i havent had anything that delicious since. the decor was also out of this world; everything was made of thick opaque plastic and very slowly changed colorsoutstanding.

  • I want Sakai to win :(

  • This is going to be a classic battle

  • hey guess what the shows been over for 7 fricken years I dont think they care anymore!

  • ohh come on. Maybe in Japan, but some of us are seeing it for the first time. SNOT.

  • Hey Chairman, the forest called, they're running out of mushrooms!

  • Siegel actually battle Sakai-san during the Nakamura

  • nope, Siegel fought Sakai when Morimoto was Iron Chef Japanese

  • lolz @ Chairman Kaga stuffing mushrooms into his mouth in the intro...

  • AHAHA SAKAI'S FACE, when the ingredient is unveiled.. HILARIOUS!

  • you are the best.. go sakai!

  • this shit is crazy!

  • Go Sakai!

  • I think that's Ron Siegel.

  • Siegel battled during the Morimoto era; by the looks of things, the battle in the footage is from the Nakamura era. It can't be Siegel in the footage.

  • That was Philippe Baton, who defeated Sakai in the Bacon Battle. He was settling a vendetta after a number of his French colleagues (working in Japan at the time) lost to Sakai.

  • Ron Siegel's a beast. I hope I'm not out of line but for a gaijin chef to best Sakai in Kitchen Stadium is huge... like a white guy winning at Showtime at the Apollo.

  • I've wondered who is the white guy who wins against Sakai in the show opening?

  • Thank you for posting so quickly!!!
