  • Let me just quote the facts, so everyone can get their information correct. "Originally formulated in Germany by Dr. med. Christine Schrammek in 1967 it was initially used by dermatologists to help laser surgery patients protect, soothe and refine highly sensitive skin while providing light coverage for post-laser scars, acne and other blemishes." - Wikipedia

It was later popular in Asian Markets because, "Korean actresses publicly recommended it." -Wikipedia.

    xD

  • @MuFFugginLover , And for people who are arguing over what BB stands for its both Beauty Balm, AND Blemish Balm. No biggie deal. Lets feel lucky that American markets are open to this. Ppl like me that can't order from overseas or don't like to, now have a chance to use a great product.

  • I have really bad skin and I usually use Nars sheer glow or Clinique cause i felt like it had more of a full coverage, but will this work on me? Will it have a good amount of coverage?

  • this BB cream is perfect for combo skin and as a woman over 35 it is not cakey or greasy. Even BE powder is making my face look too made up. I use the light shade over my moisturizer followed by concealer under my eyes. I finish with MUFE HD powder to set and extra oil control.

  • "In Asia we have TONS of colors for BB creams." BULLSHIT. Yeah, they do have different shades, but they're only different by literally half a shade. There's only one shade of BB cream, and I'm Korean, I don't tan or do shit to my skin to make it darker, but none of them work on me. They all make you looks like a ghost, and I'm SO glad Smashbox came out with this.

  • I have oily and acne prone skin and I love the Smashbox BB Cream. I use the color "medium" and it matches my skin tone perfectly. Check out my full review on my channel!

  • I'm seriously cracking up at all the asians hating on this. GET OVER IT. You know well that BB cream brands in Asia did not do a good job of mainstreaming their product, namely, providing it at merchandisers across the globe, and providing darker shades. Even fucking Maybelline & Rimmel aren't good at providing dark shades, and they're western! Spare the drama, just take it for what it is. An American company filled a void. Blame the Asian brands that were too lazy to sell their stuff here.

  • This smashbox BB cream is probably far more expensive and not as good as the real BB cream you can buy online from Asia for a decent price.

  • hum...good thing it is spreading to other non-asian countries but I don't like the fact that they pretend to bring something new to the table. Asians already have bb creams for each skin type, in all colors, coverages and effects.

  • @Worldcultured LOL @ in all colors.

  • BB cream in asia actually had multiple colors.. so you guys actually didn't do anything. and BB stands for Blemish Balm.

  • I am a medium shade, and I've tried it for about four or five days now. I really like it and it's super easy to use and really good on controlling oil. It's the easy way to have make up on for those of us who aren't the best at applying five different products to get a finished look. It covers great. I'm glad I have this product and I'm glad it comes in darker colors for those of us with natural tans. I wanted it before but I'm too dark for even the darkest BB cream color from Asia.

  • i have a dark complexion.do we get this cream in diff shades or it just have one colour??

  • WHERE DO I GET THIS BB cream in australia?? I wanna get it sooner, mine is dry skin wit acne..i really wan it.any help?thanks

  • what color is the model wearing?

  • im pretty sure bb cream is blemish balm not beauty balm.

  • There is not a ton of colors because it's supposed to adapt to the skin after an hour or so. I don't think this is real BB Cream, more like something occidental brands want to make their way because they see it's so popular in Asia. If you're looking for real BB Creams, go for asian brands instead.

  • does this actually work for mattifying? because my skin is REALLY oily. I dont want to waste my money on something that will end up making my face look like an oil spill.

  • @MuzicLova26 i haven't tried the smashbox bb cream yet, i've only sampled the skin 79 (which is the original from asia), but if you have really oily skin i would suggest making sure you apply a face primer before hand. it will help control the oil, as well as if you apply an even coat of powder after you put the bb cream on it will set it and help it to last even longer. it's not fool proof, but it will help more then using just bb cream alone.

  • @alexandreadaae okay thanks!

  • Thank God! I've been waiting years to get a bb cream in some color other than WHITE. But, I tried Smashbox's tinted moisturizer before and it sucked, so I'm skeptical as to whether this will work for me. Either way, glad someone finally made a bb cream for the rest of the world, not just asia!!! <33

  • @gladitsnotme Trust me this works! i dont have oily skin but it goes on very nicely and ive tried several foundations and some cake on me. anywho, try it at least once u wont regret it unless u are short on money i wanted to cry cause of the price it costed me 42 dollars in total includin tax but it was a great buy! as soon as i run out im heading to sephora to buy a new one! and it hydrates your skin and acts like a moisturizer! so glad cause i need to use those but 2 lazy so this helps alot!

  • @StarCrash91 Nah, I actually just took this back to Sephora and got the Naked 2 palette instead. It didn't match my skin tone, made me look ashy and pale. I also didn't like how hard it was to blend; it dried super fast. I'm glad it works for you, but for me it definitely didn't. I might try the Too Faced brand in the future, but for now I'm just giving up on BB creams again.

  • "BB cream. What is BB cream? Well BB cream is this new product that is a waste of you're money."

  • she doesnt even need foundation of bb cream. or anything

  • The reason they likely call it beauty balm instead of blemish balm so ppl who don't have blemishes will still want to buy

  • I would buy it if it was tint free. I don't like wiping my face in the summer and having the tint come off on whatever I wiped it with.

  • God bless Asia <3

  • Asian make the best BB cream!

  • @changling30 Not exactly.... i really like Lancome's BB Base (it's Asia exclusive only so im not sure if it's Asia Lancome team that makes it..) I also like Maybelline's Mineral BB (Also Asia Exclusive)

Anyways i've tried MANY bb creams the best would have to be L'egere (Korea)

but asians also have crappy ones too... i hate Missha...i hate Hanskin (though it has BEST properties and anti-aging anti acne, and made my skin AMAZING..looks so fake when i put it on)

  • @JRxREplay which L'egere is best? I see there are a few different one's.

  • lol i can just like hear this one sentence after watching the video

"we know everything about bb cream and we have given it a new name called BB, we have recreated everything and not copied anything at all.

  • @PrincessSakuno I know! She even twisted the name into "Beauty Balm" when it's mainly called "Blemish Balm"!

  • Doesn't the "BB" in BB cream stand for blemish balm not beauty balm. My understanding from using them is that it does get rid of blemishes, increase moisture and fights wrinkles. Where is the blemish part in this?

  • Sold!

  • Finally the US is on board with BB creams!! Korea and Japan have been using BB creams for years!!! I am happy they are finally in board! BB creams are the best!! A truly miracle product!:)

  • Omg America is so late with everything, even with makeup LAWLZ

  • Maybe they use models with perfect skin because it doesn't work that well on skin with acne, scars etc. Just a thought.

  • @iMalikah Good point!

  • isnt the BB in the "BB cream" stand for Blemish Blam O.o ? And in asia we have TONS of colors for BB creams. BB creams are almost like foundation, albeit less coverage.

  • @pinkgal2311 not true, in asia there are only light colors.

  • Yeah i'm gonna use that one "on set" obvi.

  • @cschou83 amazing.

  • yeah, cuz that model needs to "even out her skin"

  • they have different colors and cheap ones

  • BB creams that are in Asia do not only come in one shade -.-

  • Go asia!!

  • FINALLY!

  • Im so freaking happy about sephora got bb cream. i wanted it for so long but it was available only in online im def going to get it.:D

  • The makeup artist in this video is amazing. Such a good saleswoman! I'm sold. I also want to hang out with her on the weekends.

  • I've been waiting for this since I saw it in a magazine article a few months ago!!

  • This has piqued my interest. I am a foundation junkie!

  • Thank you for replying:-)

  • Are they long lasting?

  • Ok, I wlll try it. I need something for my aging... Lolol

  • WAAAAAAAANT!

  • i am going to try the bb cream out. =) i thinkl i'll go and get one tomorrow. =D YAY!!!

  • Can I sleep with it?

  • @01butterflyfly no its not recommended that you sleep in it cuz it is still considered as 'make up'. unless ur one of those people who sometimes go to sleep in ur make up =P in asia, there are special 'night' bb cream especially made for people to go to sleep in

  • Also, which brand do u like best and why? What skin type/skin color do u have?

  • Ladies! What other brands of bb cream does Sephora carry?

  • omg finally different shades...they bb cream before only had light tinted colour for rly fair ppl but now...

  • OMG!! Why isn't this on Smashbox.com?

  • isnt this the same thing as a tinted moisturizer?

  • @nay282 No, tinted moisturizers are pretty weak, they're barely a 2-in-1... they don't hydrate well & rarely have a lot of benefits aside from a light coverage.

BB Creams do a lot more for your skin, they truly are like a 5-in-1-- you can use it as a makeup primer, it has good SPF, it's a light foundation, it mattefies & gives your skin awesome moisture retention. If it's not all 5 of these, it's not a Blemish Balm.

  • whats the difference between bb cream and tinted moisturizers?

  • @heyheyhey1901 There's spf and its freaking hydrating!

  • how can her skin be so perfect?

  • Bless you Smashbox. That was one of the things that wasn't fair about other BB creams; it came in one shade. Women come in all different, beautiful colors - HELLO! No fault to Asia since they're the originators but the other brands that started coming out in other places should have known better. Can't wait to try Smashbox's variation.

  • i would like it better if they had a girl with problem skin, and then showed how good the bb cream is

instead of a perfect skin model.

  • It's about time we get an easily available bb cream in the states! Can't wait to try this! Woo Hoo!

  • @MsIndiaInk there is already a brand sold in sephora that makes bb cream

  • korean bb creams are still the best.. :)

  • im still holding on to my dr jart bb cream...

  • Finally.. Is is up to date with bb cream sheesh

  • Beauty Balm? you mean Blemish Balm, right? Yeah. :P

  • @prolifepinay It's actually the same

  • smashbox is a little slow in the BB cream department.. The best BB creams are the asian brands... and smashbox is over priced...

  • thank god i don't have oily skin

  • seeing the model makes me want it. lol

  • bb creams are known as blemish balm..it was made it Germany and comes in little varities of shades but it normally oxidzes, it's just popular in Asia.

  • seriously about time bb creams start coming over here!

  • I love that american products have made BB creams. I always wanted to try it but didnt trust the asian products

  • Jessica Simpson had a show where she went to I guess Asia and the poor women there. Her face was all white and blotchy from creams they use. I will never forget it. I think I will stick to regular primer and foundation for now.

  • they only sell bb creams for 20$ at asian stores!

  • i hate how they use flawless faced models for every foundation commercial. i have crappy skin, come use me

  • @lorizdremtan AGREED!

  • @lorizdremtan you should probably use a good cleanser and moisturizer. Never sleep in make up and use good foundation like Nars or Bobbi Brown. Although Smashbox I think has the best primers. Oh yes if you can get a Clarisonic!

  • @GBFandCo yup, i do all of those things, still have acne like crazy. but thanks for the suggestions!

  • @lorizdremtan sure doll!! I scored 2 Naked2 palettes last night from Sephora.com I will do a giveaway in the upcoming weeks so please stay tune to my channel.

  • KOREA IS THE BEST

  • 40 dollars for this??? Are you kidding me???

  • The makeup artist looks like Raven.

  • bb stands for blemish balm or beblish balm...not beauty balm

  • I dont think it s worth whatever it costs ehen i can the "original" bbcream for,i bet,evn hslf the price. Wasre of moneeeeeey

  • Notice they always do this make-overs on people who already have flawless skin?

  • I wish there is a swatch

  • don't spend 40 bucks on a smashbox bb cream people.

there are ton of other bb creams that sell for below 30 bucks.

  • finally a BB cream i can use for my skin tone! now my only hope is that it doesnt break me out!

  • i love bb creams

  • Does this BB cream whithen/bleach skin? I refuse to use anything that's is going to bleach my skin because it causes uneven discoloration and spots..

  • @BeautieCandy BB Cream contains whitening properties but a common misconception is that BB cream will bleach your skin. The whitening properties will not cause your skin to look whiter but rather they will lighten dark spots on your face, and that doesn't cause unevenness but should cause a more even color throughout your face. I don't know if the Smashbox one has any whitening properties but I do know the majority of the ones produced in Asia do.

  • @simplicityx0

I've read many reviews online and heard from friends that the whitening ingredients in asian BB creams cause discoloration and uneven patches of bleached skin patches that is why I have avoided BB creams for the longest time. If the Smashbox one doesn't have any whitening ingredients I'd be willing to try it. Thank you though for your reply, it's always nice to see diverse personal opinions from others. :)

  • @BeautieCandy No problem! If you're trying it out, tell me how you like it ! It seems a little .. pricey in my opinion but I'd love to hear what you think ! :)

  • BB cream stand for blemish balm and the formula is reported to have come from Germany where dermatologists use it for healing laser skin surgery because of its characteristic soothing and skin-regenerating properties. I don't think it's the same. I'll buy it anyways.

  • Wow thisis great instad of all the other hard to trust chnese bb cream brands :)

  • I thought bb cream was formulated in Germany. and the asian bb creams I've used look really funky in camera too much spf and it can make the skin look really funky I'm sure an american version would be better.

  • @aziangel1910 Yup, BB Cream is originally from Germany and was used for patients who had just gone under surgery and was used to cover up scars and was thought to eventually fade scars over time

  • @simplicityx0 but then why did they say it was from asia. smashbox or sephora has to do some more research

  • @aziangel1910 my bad they really didn't specify where my bad.

  • @aziangel1910 I have no clue why they said it was from Asia but she called BB cream Beauty Balm when we all know its Blemish Balm. I would take their facts with a grain of salt.

  • so this basically is not meant for oily or imperfect skin?

  • Right! lol

  • $39 for bb cream? Um no.

  • FINALLY!!! a bb cream I can use on my latin skin without looking ashy! :) Im so into this product and definitely gonna give it a try!!

  • Oooo I'm Intrigued!

  • The fair would be too dark for me ):

  • just saying how shes applying it is wrong....your suppose to dab it all over your face and pat it around your face so it absorbs into your skin and it would look more natural and better and brighter skin colour and if you have dry skin usually watery bb cream is best and for oily skin i suggest something a bit thicker so you would use less bb cream and it still spreads easily i suggest skin 79, BRTC, for ppl that love natural products skinfood is the best

  • I think these American BB creams are still mostly concentrated as a make up more than a make up AND skin care product. The benefits are lacking if you compare it to the Asian ones though. But it would be interesting to see how they compare :P

  • I just opened a tube of tinted moisturizer, but when that runs out, I'm trying this BB cream. I've been looking for one that goes with my complexion. Most other ones are for those with fair or ivory skin while I'm olive complected.

  • finally America is using BB cream too!!

but I still wish Asian BB creams can be easier to reach for instead of having to buy

    most of them online. xD

I'm currently using Missha M Perfect BB Cream in No. 23 and No. 27 together (:

Hoping to try this BB cream and find that it's as good, or maybe better? ;]

  • Anthr product created for consumers tii waste their money. I love invented products...but these companies are getting ridiculous with it!

  • OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Hmm. switchover from asian brands...? or stick with them? I'll probably wait for someone for someone to review them before considering.

  • Is it better than the missha one ?

  • I love my Missha BB cream, but I wish it would have a bit more pigment and last longer. I'll have to check this out :D

  • I notice Western BB creams only hydrates and has Spf. It doesnt do a lot of the things the Asian brands do (anti-aging, anti-wrinkle, brightens dark spots, and a million more things)

I like Lancome BB Base and Maybellines Bb cream, even though it doesnt do much compared to the asian brands, it doesn't break my skin out. I love Smashbox, gonna try it not.

  • i need some of this!! hello christmas list!!

  • ok gonna check this out at sephora.com now! lol

  • The model's skin is perfect already

  • @ewells95 Point exactly...don't fall for the hokey doke!

  • so glad they have come out with a BB cream for skin of color. I was purchasing mine online from Japan - then adding my own color foundation in a darker shade (cause bb only came in light shades) and mixing it. That was cool but - each time I mixed - it would be a different shade because I didn't measure and I am no chemist...lol. This will make my life easier....thanks Smashbox and Sephora!

  • omg i love this! i have to get my hands o this!

  • definitely gonna try this. tried another american brand and wasn't so impressed. this looks pretty good :)

  • It's about time BB Cream came to America. I've been wanting to try it after seeing all of these amazing Asian gurus using it in tutorials. :D

  • @CarefreeGirlie you can order Asian BB creams on Amazon, but Sephora now carries at least 4 brands of BB creams. :)

  • @CarefreeGirlie Dr. Jart's BB cream has been on Sephora for a while.
