my translation says "A raging fever burns within me, and my health is broken." Not quite as funny :P but now every time in church when they say to turn to Psalm I think of this :)
@GuitarGage870 Whatever existed held the same beliefs such as the true presence of Christ in the Eucharist. By the way, the Catholic Church's belief is that whoever's heart is with that of Jesus will be saved. So I don't think you're going to Hell or anything.
@GuitarGage870 So Jesus founded a Church that he said the getes of Hell would not prevail against that was wrong for the first 1500 years? If Protestantism is true, one has to find out which of the tens of thousands of denominations fits his personal interpretation of the Bible. As for answering a question, it is in the Bible that anyone who eats and drinks at communion unworthily is guilty of the Body and Blood of the Lord.
@Zokunei No, like I said earlier, Catholicism didn't even exist until several hundred years after Christs death! Roman Catholicism, does that ring a bell! That is exactly where your religion came from, read history!
@GuitarGage870 There are many things not in the Bible that were practiced from the befriending of the Church. You'll find that there never was a point when the Catholic Church changed these doctrines like Protestant reformers claim. In fact, there is no record of anyone not believing in the true presence of Jesus in the Eucharist for over a thousand years. The Bible wasn't even compiled into an official collection for over four hundred years of Church history.
@Zokunei Great story, but you still haven't answered like any of my questions. That's the point, catholics continue to practice things that aren't even in the Bible. The Protestants (or at least the ones at my church) recognize those things and no longer practice them, but catholics still practice them.
@GuitarGage870 I didn't say they educate babies before their baptism, I said they have another sacrament taken around the age of 14 to confirm one's dedication to God. Praying through saints is implied by the Bible telling us that God's family is on heaven and earth, and that the saints in Heaven are more alive than those on earth. It is like asking a friend to pray for you.
@Zokunei Okay, but what's the point in baptizing a baby if it's just going to have confirm it in 13 or 14 years??? I'm not getting what you're saying about the saints or anything else. I never heard Jesus praying through saints, nor do I see prayer through saints anywhere else in the Bible. I see prayer FOR saints but not THROUGH saints.
@GuitarGage870 Catholics have a sacrament of Confirmstion that is taken only after one goes through religious education and chooses to take the sacrament as a kind of finalization to their baptism. Also the second part of the phrase "human who God chose to be the mother of His son" involves a choice made by God Himself and would suggest a lot of consideration.
@Zokunei So... How exactly do you educate babies? I mean is there like a Bible for babies or?... God chose Mary just as he chose His people (the Jews) or how He chooses whom He saves. If Mary was special than are the Jews special? Are we as believers special? No, we are undeservingly saved by grace just as Mary was undeserving of raising God's Son. Again, if you actually read all of Luke 1, Mary is simply showing her gratitude. Praying to or through Mary is NOWHERE in the Bible.
@wolfrunner564 Catholicism as an organization with a central figure located in Rome did not occur for quite some time, in spite of its claim that they can trace the papacy back to Peter.
@wolfeunner564 First of all, the Roman Catholic Church was not really in effect as an organization in the first couple hundred years of the Christian church. The Christian church was under persecution and official church gatherings were risky business in the Roman Empire.
my friend asked me what my favorite bible verse was and i was like For my loins are filled with a loathsome disease. and my friend was like O.o okay changing the subject and no one even looked at me for the rest of the day
No, the reason the protestant reformation even happened is because people began to realize what the catholics added to the Bible was actually contradicting scripture. Example: catholics believe that the pope is the head of the church and can pretty much tell the church to do anything with no question. Protestants believe that Christ is the head of the church (Ephesians 5:23). There are many other examples that I don't have room for.
@GuitarGage870 Christ even chose the first pope..remember who he built his rock on?? btw did you know that Luther, just before dying, went back to the Catholic church, and regretted what he did?
@jmlemke33 That is a myth, kind of like the myth that Darwin became a Christian and regreted his theory of evolution on his death bed. Christ never chose a pope. He gave us the great commission and apostles later laid the foundation of the church (with Christ being the head).
@GuitarGage870 Er, just want to point this out, but if you'll read your history books, you can see that it wasn't Catholics that added books, it was Protestants that removed them. Where do you think the bible came from?
@wolfrunner564 I don't know what kind of history book you have bud. The Bible didn't come from Roman Catholics. The Bible was written by men under the full inspiration of God. Catholicism has always been corrupt, you can't save someones soul from hell buy buying indulgences. And baptizing a baby will not save its soul, nowhere is that in the Bible. The Bible says nothing about popes, purgatory, penance, indulgences or Mary worship!
@GuitarGage870 To start off, I'm just going to reply to the parts of your comment that I have the time to reply to right now. I'll reply to the rest tomorrow.
Have you ever heard of the Council of Trent? If you haven't, one of the things that happened at the Council of Trent was the enumeration of books that must be regarded as sacred and canonical. However, not all revealed truths are contained in the Bible; nor is every truth in the Bible revealed,
@GuitarGage870 if by revelation is meant the manifestation of hidden truths which could not otherwise be known. The Catholic Church did not write the Bible, they simply recognized and proclaimed the divinity in existing writings.
@wolfrunner564 The Christian church merely recognizes the Word of God (John 10:27). The authenticity of the New Testament documents rests in the inspiration of God through the apostles. It does not rest in the declaration of the Catholic Church. This is very important - the Christian church recognizes what God has ordained through his sovereign inspiration to be the word of God.
@GuitarGage870 On infant baptism: I'm assuming that you do not believe in infant baptism. I am assuming that you believe that to be baptized (if you think people should be baptized at all) one must be old enough to accept Jesus for themselves. Now, first I will ask a rhetorical question: If you had a child, and your child was hungry, would you wait for the child to be old enough to ask for food to feed him or her?
@wolfrunner564 Yes, I personally don't believe in infant baptism. However, I don't put an age requirement on how old you have to be for God to save you. I was personally baptized when I was barely 5 years old. Yet I was old enough to understand that Christ died for my sin, and that it was me who put Christ on the cross. I wanted to live for eternity with the man who willfully laid His life down for undeserving, selfish people like me.
@wolfrunner564 Also, I believe that God predestined all of His people (the ones he saves). Romans 8:29 says: For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that he(believers) would be the firstborn among many brethren. Baptism doesn't save anyone, only God does. Acts 2:38 IS NOT TALKING ABOUT BAPTISM!
@wolfrunner564 I do believe in baptism, but only as a sign to those around you that you are saved and you are not ashamed of it. Look at the thief on the cross(Luke23:39-, he obviously never got a chance to be baptized, he merely recognized and confessed that Jesus was the son of God and Jesus in return gave him eternal life.
@wolfrunner564 The main reason my church doesn't baptize infants or children is because so many people say that they are saved, but by their fruit and deeds they deny God(example would be Titus 1:16). I know many people that live a life of continual rebellion and sin, but because they were baptized or walked an aisle and said a prayer, they think they are saved. This sickens me.
@wolfrunner564 My church waits to baptize anyone until they see signs of a true believer in that person that wants to be baptized. Because baptism is merely a profession of faith, and they want to be sure that that person really has faith. They don't want to give people a false sense of security that just because they got baptized or that their name is on the members list than they're saved. Nor do they want to baptize someone that is in a life of sin since that is a sign of an unbeliever.
@wolfrunner564 Don't get me wrong, my church realizes that no one is perfect, and even believers will stumble. My pastor, almost every week, tells a story of how he sinned during the week prior. My church DOES NOT look for perfection, just signs of a true believer before they baptize or make someone a member.
@GuitarGage870 I do hope that as a Christian, you would answer that, "no, I would most certainly feed the child, even though he or she is not old enough to ask for food." And indeed, if you would feed the child's bodily hunger, then why do you deny the necessity of feeding the child's soul? The hunger of the soul is much more important that the hunger of the body.
@wolfrunner564 Here's the problem, of course I would feed my child if he or she was hungry. The problem is, not everyone is a child of God. If you baptize a child, that will not somehow grow his or her spirit in Christ. Only the Bible gives us spiritual growth, not water. We are not washed by water but by Jesus' blood. There is FIRST justification by His blood and THEN spiritual growth by the Word not water. Water is not an ingredient to salvation or spiritual growth.
@GuitarGage870 If you also want the biblical teachings on this, look at Acts 2:38-39 to start off. Peter says "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, for the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to Him." The crucial line there is, "To you and to your children... Every one whom the Lord our God calls to Him."
@wolfrunner564 I'm pretty sure Paul was already saved at the point of Acts 2:38. Again, Ananias was telling Paul to be baptized as a profession of faith, not as an act of salvation. Notice "repent" (the act of salvation) is completely separate from "be baptized" :)
@wolfrunner564 And again, I never said children can't be saved, anyone can be saved. In 1 Peter 3:21, Peter Is talking about a blood baptism (or simply union with Christ) not baptism by water. To be sure he isn't misunderstood, he even says "not as a removal of dirt from the body"(which would be referring to water). Even John Macarthur accepts and can explain this.
@GuitarGage870 In Acts 22:16, we also read: "Rise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name" These commands are universal, applying to all, and are in no way restricted to adults. These commands also make clear the necessary connection between baptism and salvation, which is clearly stated in 1 Peter 3:21: "Baptism . . . now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ."
@GuitarGage870 The original Greek form of Luke 18:15 says, “Prosepheron de auto kai ta brepha.” The Greek “brepha” translates to “infants” - children who are quite unable to approach Christ on their own and who could not possibly make a conscious decision to "accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior." Babies still have Original Sin, and should not be denied the cleansing power of baptism.
@wolfrunner564 When the Catholic Church claims that it is the source of the sacred Scriptures, it is, in effect, placing itself above the word of God. It needs to repent.
@GuitarGage870 I will now address your idea that Catholics “worship” Mary. Now, Catholics do not worship Mary, they simply venerate her. In Luke 1:48, Mary says, “behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.” Again, Catholics do not “worship” Mary, Catholics simply venerate her as the Mother of God.
@wolfrunner564 Mary says people will consider her blessed, not Holy. Mary sinned, she was not Holy. Mary was merely showing her gratitude of given the blessing of giving birth to, and raising the Son of God. She was not saying she was the great mother of God, because she WASN'T the mother of God! Mary was grateful, not great. God chose her to raise His Son and she was grateful, that's it.
@GuitarGage870 Both Martin Luther and Zwingli believed in the veneration of Mary. It was only as protestantism progressed that protestants began to reject the veneration of Mary. If we are all called to imitate Jesus (as I hope you undoubtedly believe) and Jesus honored Mary, then we are called to honor Mary as well.
@wolfrunner564 Martin Luther was simply a die hard Catholic before he began the reformation. But God used him to reveal the truth and corruption. Was Luther perfect? No. God used Luther just as he used a donkey. Of course there were things Luther continued to believe from the catholic church. Sort of like things you were taught growing up and never questioned yet come to find out, they were false. I don't believe I'm familiar with Zwingli.
@wolfrunner564 I honestly don't know why catholics look at Mary as this great figure. The Bible barely even talks much about her. Of course Jesus honored Mary as His mother, just as we are to honor our parents Exodus 20:12. Do you think that because Jesus was a carpenter than all believers should be carpenters too? Ha ha! Mary was just a human that God chose to be the mother of His Son.
If you think about it, there are more clues to the truth of God's existence than the big bang theory, evolution, or other beliefs. And yes I said beliefs because it isn't actual science, these all are based on faith. I have faith in Christ. The big bang theory was mainly a giant guess, the Bible has been around longer and there has been alot of proof to back it up. :)
@Zurrixia Actually the way to Heaven is asking the Lord into your heart and asking forgiveness for ours sins and also believing in Him. It doesn't matter what religion you are. :)
(to those who are judging us and God... You have no right to judge, but sometimes people sin. I am guilty of judging as well, but I know that I am forgiven. And that doesn't mean people can sin when ever, we have to try to do what's right.)
Think of the point that they say the cosmos were originally light. Who created that light? God did. God breathed life into us while we were dust. God arranged the lands and set the earth in a place that we could survive in.
Ok so maybe you believe in the big bang theory, but how do you think the big bang happened? The earth isnt a pile of junk because someone arranged it before humans were created. Humans are dust. Who could create a living creature from dust? Not any light as the big bang theory claims. If you believe in science, remember this: energy can neither be created nor destroyed. So why would energy just blow up in the cosmos? Think of the point that they say the cosmos were originally ligh

For this world to change, we need to change ourselves by seeking truth. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click on the 1st result, then click on The Present and read what it says. If you seek, you will find.
@Zurrixia You're right, you don't make the rules. God does. And His book is the Bible, and nowhere in the Bible does it say you won't go to heaven if you aren't catholic. Did you know, before and during the reformation, catholics killed, excommunicated, and even tortured anyone who tried to tell the pope (or anyone else for that matter) that they were teaching false(unbiblical) doctrins. Then catholic authorities had to write their own version of the Bible which isn't even a Bible!
@GuitarGage870 btw the Catholics didn't write 'their own bible'..you obviously dont remember that the Catholic bible is the original. Protestants took out books, the ones they didnt want to except. and what about queen elizabeth..she didnt persecute Catholics?
@jmlemke33 Also, the Bible says nothing about a pope. Catholics believe the pope can sanctify but no where is that in scripture. Only Christ can sanctify "save" (John 14:6 and many others). Catholics also believe they(exorcists) can cast out demons. But only Jesus Christ had the ability to cast out demons. The only other people that could cast out demons were people Jesus personally appointed.
As a matter of fact, Jesus was deeply hurt and had to go through a lot of pain and torment just to save us from our sins, so I'm pretty sure Gods not saying "I'm glad they sinned cuz I would have died for nothing!"
Jesus wouldn't have had to die if we had no sin. Because of our sin, He died. It's not a "good thing no ones perfect or God would have died for nothing!" It's God had to die because of our sin. If we had no sin, He wouldn't have sacrificed himself!!!!
Thank you! That is now my favorite Bible verse! And it's now my signature on my phone! ^_^ (I had to pick a Bible verse as my signature, and what better verse to put than that?!?)

I noticed lots of atheists here saying God's evil and they don't believe in him (apparently just because they think he's evil). With their logic, Al Qaeda, Hitler, and Nero never existed. Nope. Cuz I don't think they're nice.
Please, actually base your disbelief on proof not "I read this Bible verse so now I don't think God's very nice."
OK HERE IS THE TRUTH. the big bang created the world not GOD! and who ever beleves in this horse shit every1 calls christianity needs a reality check. to be honest i would beleve in santa claus b4 i bleve in GOD! so fuck all christians! SCIENCE RULES!
@thunder72191 you do know that that their are a LOT of christians who are scientist (for a fact I know at least five that I can think of) I think that a lot of things in science are real...but hat being said you should practice discretion because there are probably young ones reading through these and what you're saying probably isn't the best..I don't care if you troll on me:) I hope you have a good life.
@thezombieslayer393 u know wat............ur a nice guy. most ppl on utube just use curse words to prove their point but u did a good job in that explanation
@thunder72191 Well first and fore most I'm a girl...and secondly I'm not nice. I'm just the kind of person who looks at both sdes of the story and then makes a judgement. Truth be told I believe in the 'big bang theory'. If you want to ask how I do message me but that's just what I think. And I don't like cussing to prove a point...I only think cussing should be used when you are in times of highten stress. But thank you for the compliment.
@thunder72191 No evidence AT ALL for a the big bang theory. In fact, there are so many scientific issues with it, it is nearly impossible. I would believe in santa clause before I believed I evolved from an ape.
your religion is a system of laws and rules designed to keep people dumb....like you. I fully understand your "religion"....which is why I am nauseated by the depths of your indoctrination....you people will become far more dangerous than any taliban...history tells us this.
My favourite verse from the bible is Ezekiel 23:20.....lets put that on a pillow and give it to your granny...it will probably bring back memories for her...
If you don't think it's funny, say so. But if you hate Christians and Christianity, do you really think YouTube is the place to bash them? Goodness forbid you have to actually socialize and speak to actual people about being molested by a priest. On Youtube you are protected by many miles of distance and a computer monitor so no one sees that you really are just a bitter crab and you need a nap.
@milorosen you say this in ignorance. God can do no evil. He is perfect and holy and loving and just. Disbelieve if you will, but that wont make him any less awesome
@MrPs103 ....sheep.....ba...baaa baa.....it takes a blind fool not to realize all war is based on whose god is right....none of you are right...just varying degrees of disillusion.....I wonder what creepy aspects of your character we would find if we looked...hm? you like to fuck fuzzy animals???
@milorosen your comments are full of filth, and so i could expect the same to be filling your heart. continue to deny the Lord, and He will give you the separation you've always wanted. i'm just hoping you're comfortable with that decision being something you can't take back. please study and be sure, for your own sake.
In all this game, the devil is the victim,is the scapegoat, will be accused of everything cause the GOD don’t want any rivals*.Conclusion: live at the full in the freedom of GOD (praying in a right form, following the INSTRUCTIONS in the Bible - keeping the 10 commandments-including keeping the Saturday as the 7th day etc.) instead of in the incapacity and limited power of devil cause he is just a temporary puppet.*HE picked intentionally an “adversary” to show that nobody have more power than HIM.
@firstdategirls96 ............ahh that's sweet....tell santa what I want for xmas while you are at it too.
I feel sooo sad for you, as you have been brainwashed(they do that tyo small kids cuz if they waited until you were old enough to think you would realize how ridiculous xianity and how evil catholicism is.
@milorosen Ok i will! Oh you don't need to feel sad for me i'm VERY happy with my religion!!!!!! u know its harder to be an atheist then to be a catholic.........atheist have to try to believe EVEN with ALL the miracles that there is know God!!! Jesus is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(: <33333333
@milorosen Catholics don't believe in the Bible. Heck, they killed and tortured people who tried to convince them (usually the popes) they were teaching unbiblical doctrins. Catholics aren't christians. God can reveal Himself to them through the Bible but they are unsaved otherwise.
I'd be interested in where in the Catholic doctrine you pulled that from. I've never read anything in the Catholic doctrine that says "Catholics don't believe in the bible"
I'm sorry that a Catholic priest molested you. But Catholic priests have nothing to do with our Lord and Savior dying on the cross for our sins. Think about the good all other Christians do and no ones perfect, but I think it's funny that people who are against Christians only focus on the negative.

@GuitarGage870 Er, just want to point this out, but if you'll read your history books, you can see that it wasn't Catholics that added books, it was Protestants that removed them. Where do you think the bible came from?
wolfrunner564 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 I don't know what kind of history book you have bud. The Bible didn't come from Roman Catholics. The Bible was written by men under the full inspiration of God. Catholicism has always been corrupt, you can't save someones soul from hell buy buying indulgences. And baptizing a baby will not save its soul, nowhere is that in the Bible. The Bible says nothing about popes, purgatory, penance, indulgences or Mary worship!
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@GuitarGage870 To start off, I'm just going to reply to the parts of your comment that I have the time to reply to right now. I'll reply to the rest tomorrow.
Have you ever heard of the Council of Trent? If you haven't, one of the things that happened at the Council of Trent was the enumeration of books that must be regarded as sacred and canonical. However, not all revealed truths are contained in the Bible; nor is every truth in the Bible revealed,
wolfrunner564 1 month ago
@GuitarGage870 if by revelation is meant the manifestation of hidden truths which could not otherwise be known. The Catholic Church did not write the Bible, they simply recognized and proclaimed the divinity in existing writings.
That's to reply to what you said about the Bible
wolfrunner564 1 month ago

Now, first I will ask a rhetorical question: If you had a child, and your child was hungry, would you wait for the child to be old enough to ask for food to feed him or her?
wolfrunner564 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 Yes, I personally don't believe in infant baptism. However, I don't put an age requirement on how old you have to be for God to save you. I was personally baptized when I was barely 5 years old. Yet I was old enough to understand that Christ died for my sin, and that it was me who put Christ on the cross. I wanted to live for eternity with the man who willfully laid His life down for undeserving, selfish people like me.
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 Also, I believe that God predestined all of His people (the ones he saves). Romans 8:29 says: For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that he(believers) would be the firstborn among many brethren. Baptism doesn't save anyone, only God does. Acts 2:38 IS NOT TALKING ABOUT BAPTISM!
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 I do believe in baptism, but only as a sign to those around you that you are saved and you are not ashamed of it. Look at the thief on the cross(Luke23:39-, he obviously never got a chance to be baptized, he merely recognized and confessed that Jesus was the son of God and Jesus in return gave him eternal life.
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 The main reason my church doesn't baptize infants or children is because so many people say that they are saved, but by their fruit and deeds they deny God(example would be Titus 1:16). I know many people that live a life of continual rebellion and sin, but because they were baptized or walked an aisle and said a prayer, they think they are saved. This sickens me.
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 My church waits to baptize anyone until they see signs of a true believer in that person that wants to be baptized. Because baptism is merely a profession of faith, and they want to be sure that that person really has faith. They don't want to give people a false sense of security that just because they got baptized or that their name is on the members list than they're saved. Nor do they want to baptize someone that is in a life of sin since that is a sign of an unbeliever.
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 Don't get me wrong, my church realizes that no one is perfect, and even believers will stumble. My pastor, almost every week, tells a story of how he sinned during the week prior. My church DOES NOT look for perfection, just signs of a true believer before they baptize or make someone a member.
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@GuitarGage870 I do hope that as a Christian, you would answer that, "no, I would most certainly feed the child, even though he or she is not old enough to ask for food." And indeed, if you would feed the child's bodily hunger, then why do you deny the necessity of feeding the child's soul? The hunger of the soul is much more important that the hunger of the body.
wolfrunner564 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 Here's the problem, of course I would feed my child if he or she was hungry. The problem is, not everyone is a child of God. If you baptize a child, that will not somehow grow his or her spirit in Christ. Only the Bible gives us spiritual growth, not water. We are not washed by water but by Jesus' blood. There is FIRST justification by His blood and THEN spiritual growth by the Word not water. Water is not an ingredient to salvation or spiritual growth.
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@GuitarGage870 If you also want the biblical teachings on this, look at Acts 2:38-39 to start off. Peter says "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit, for the promise is to you and to your children and to all that are far off, every one whom the Lord our God calls to Him." The crucial line there is, "To you and to your children... Every one whom the Lord our God calls to Him."
wolfrunner564 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 I'm pretty sure Paul was already saved at the point of Acts 2:38. Again, Ananias was telling Paul to be baptized as a profession of faith, not as an act of salvation. Notice "repent" (the act of salvation) is completely separate from "be baptized" :)
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 And again, I never said children can't be saved, anyone can be saved. In 1 Peter 3:21, Peter Is talking about a blood baptism (or simply union with Christ) not baptism by water. To be sure he isn't misunderstood, he even says "not as a removal of dirt from the body"(which would be referring to water). Even John Macarthur accepts and can explain this.
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@GuitarGage870 In Acts 22:16, we also read: "Rise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name" These commands are universal, applying to all, and are in no way restricted to adults. These commands also make clear the necessary connection between baptism and salvation, which is clearly stated in 1 Peter 3:21: "Baptism . . . now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a clear conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ."
wolfrunner564 1 month ago
@GuitarGage870 The original Greek form of Luke 18:15 says, “Prosepheron de auto kai ta brepha.” The Greek “brepha” translates to “infants” - children who are quite unable to approach Christ on their own and who could not possibly make a conscious decision to "accept Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior." Babies still have Original Sin, and should not be denied the cleansing power of baptism.
wolfrunner564 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 When the Catholic Church claims that it is the source of the sacred Scriptures, it is, in effect, placing itself above the word of God. It needs to repent.
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@GuitarGage870 I will now address your idea that Catholics “worship” Mary. Now, Catholics do not worship Mary, they simply venerate her. In Luke 1:48, Mary says, “behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.” Again, Catholics do not “worship” Mary, Catholics simply venerate her as the Mother of God.
wolfrunner564 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 Mary says people will consider her blessed, not Holy. Mary sinned, she was not Holy. Mary was merely showing her gratitude of given the blessing of giving birth to, and raising the Son of God. She was not saying she was the great mother of God, because she WASN'T the mother of God! Mary was grateful, not great. God chose her to raise His Son and she was grateful, that's it.
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@GuitarGage870 Both Martin Luther and Zwingli believed in the veneration of Mary. It was only as protestantism progressed that protestants began to reject the veneration of Mary. If we are all called to imitate Jesus (as I hope you undoubtedly believe) and Jesus honored Mary, then we are called to honor Mary as well.
wolfrunner564 1 month ago
@wolfrunner564 Martin Luther was simply a die hard Catholic before he began the reformation. But God used him to reveal the truth and corruption. Was Luther perfect? No. God used Luther just as he used a donkey. Of course there were things Luther continued to believe from the catholic church. Sort of like things you were taught growing up and never questioned yet come to find out, they were false. I don't believe I'm familiar with Zwingli.
GuitarGage870 1 month ago

Kesho629 2 months ago
@Zurrixia Actually the way to Heaven is asking the Lord into your heart and asking forgiveness for ours sins and also believing in Him. It doesn't matter what religion you are. :)
(to those who are judging us and God... You have no right to judge, but sometimes people sin. I am guilty of judging as well, but I know that I am forgiven. And that doesn't mean people can sin when ever, we have to try to do what's right.)

If we made seeking, checking, and spreading the truth our top priority in life, our world would reflect that unifying, honest intent. Search "Truth Contest" in Google and click on the 1st result, then click on The Present and read what it says. If you seek, you will find.

MrPokoloco 2 months ago
@Zurrixia You're right, you don't make the rules. God does. And His book is the Bible, and nowhere in the Bible does it say you won't go to heaven if you aren't catholic. Did you know, before and during the reformation, catholics killed, excommunicated, and even tortured anyone who tried to tell the pope (or anyone else for that matter) that they were teaching false(unbiblical) doctrins. Then catholic authorities had to write their own version of the Bible which isn't even a Bible!
GuitarGage870 1 month ago
@GuitarGage870 btw the Catholics didn't write 'their own bible'..you obviously dont remember that the Catholic bible is the original. Protestants took out books, the ones they didnt want to except. and what about queen elizabeth..she didnt persecute Catholics?

@jmlemke33 No, Catholics added books to the Bible. Protestants didn't take out books they didn't except, ha ha!

jmlemke33 1 month ago
@jmlemke33 Also, the Bible says nothing about a pope. Catholics believe the pope can sanctify but no where is that in scripture. Only Christ can sanctify "save" (John 14:6 and many others). Catholics also believe they(exorcists) can cast out demons. But only Jesus Christ had the ability to cast out demons. The only other people that could cast out demons were people Jesus personally appointed.
