  • There's nothing better than beating the Fuskies. I sat through the 70's and most of the 80's and had to put up with the incredible arrogance of Fuskie fans. Seeing them go 0-12 in 2008: priceless.

  • agreed

    the only thing better

    watching the beavers go 0-12

  • Tough call, but to me the Beavs are sort of like the hapless little brother who occasionally rises up and whacks you. The Fuskies, on the other hand, are like the aging big bully. He used to be tough and kick your ass. Now, he's just a still arrogant wannabe and deserves all the beatdowns he gets. Anyhow: GO DUCKS!!

  • i was there for all those. season tickets started in 86 up till 98, then i started school there and free tickets after that. love the ducks

  • Oregon had some really good football teams from '87 to '89, but unfortunately for them they kept getting beat up in the injury department by mid-season and could not compete well during the last part of the season all three years.

Ironically this was the case for most of the teams in the Pac-ten during the late '80s.

  • agreed

what killed oregon in those days was lack of depth

great starters but no good back ups

  • 1987-88 was my first full year at the University of Oregon, and the SC game was the first game I ever saw at Autzen. There was a buzz all fall that this might be the first Duck team to go to a bowl since 1963. Didn't happen that year (due to inexperience) or the next (due to injuries)...but finally it happened in 1989 with an Independence Bowl bid, during my last term at UO. The Ducks have mostly been on a high-level ride ever since.

  • Wish they would wear those old uniforms!

  • That was awesome! Great find. Thanks for posting.

I was a freshman at Oregon that year and joined the marching band, having no idea that 1987 would be the birth of the modern era for Oregon football.

The Washington and USC games were on back-to-back weekends, if I remember correctly.
