It is (was) 5' 6". The board against the wall was 20" wide with an aisle width of 2' 6". The layout no longer exists, there s a new one under construction.
Thanks for the comments. I try to make the layout look reasonably lifelike but have to rely entirely on either books or the internet for info, being, like you, many miles from the area!
I know. Websites, friends in the US, DVD's, Modelrailroader and youtube gives me the information needed, but still it would be great just to go outthere and see for yourself.
thank you for your reply. my layout is 12' long by 5.5' wide with 2 loops and 4 yard spurs. (all still under construction)
