I just saw Joshua Bell in Vegas with Frankie Moreno and as grandfather I only wish that one day he will play in my granddaughter wedding. In my humble opinion he is the most talented musician, artist of our time. Why? because as my wife says he makes love to the violin, bringing the innermost sentiments of pain and sorrow to sound, while the mind just enjoys the beauty of imagery he creates, and all with such an ease.

This Joshua Bell is a very talented violinist, indeed, which is most surprising coming from an American born artist. He has the technique, the expressivity, and a good bit of understanding of his materials. His lovely violin lines mimics the soprano singing voice enough to raise heads up. For sure, there are few moments in which the pace was a tad fast for singers and it would probably have been better to play it in higher keys, perhaps raise the pitch 2 notes or so.

@xdalmacijax1 actually, it's supposed to be a girl asking a favour from her father...it's said to be more sweet than sad. however, that's just because it was written for an opera. the music itself is not bound to a single emotion XD that's what's so great about the notes themselves, anyone can relate to them in their OWN way!

@metalheadlass well, she's not asking for a favor, so much as she's begging her father to let her marry renuccio, a boy from a different class. she says if she can't marry him, she'll throw herself off the ponte vecchio into the river arno. that's seems to be a pretty sad aria to me. in fact, it's really the only serious point in the entire opera (gianni schicchi, by puccini).
