Queen serenity was based on the Goddess Selene, and if she was based on a goddess, why couldn't she just create a daughter of her own? also i always thought that when queen serenity brought princess serenity to the galaxy cauldron that was when the moon kingdom was destroyed and basically queen serenity being given the choice of either letting her daughter go on and start anew or if she wanted to keep things the way they were but she chose for her daughter to have her chance for a new start.

I found the ending very unpleasant. It appears that none of them got to live out their normal lives on Earth, which is what Usagi wanted the whole time. They seem to have left their families behind which is sad. And by far the worst, the future galaxy is destined to be wrecked by Sailor Chaos.

One other theory: does being reborn take a specific fixed amount of time? In the historical Silver Millennium, everyone was sent off to be reborn and they all re-appeared around the same time on Earth.

Then at the end of the Stars manga, everyone was brought back... and the setting appeared to be the Moon Kingdom of the future with Neo Queen Serenity.

I know that Queen Serenity sent Usagi and Mamoru (and probably the others?) to be reborn in the present... but did she (or anyone at the time) know that Beryl and her group would be reborn here too?

Sadly this might just be a case of "the author didn't fully write out that entire sub-story so there's just no correct answer". It certainly makes more sense to assume that everything was planned, otherwise it would be one giant coincidence.

If you're familiar with the Greek mythology that Naoko Takeuchi tends to use for the series, you know that gods and goddesses (which I assume that Queen Serenity to be something like a goddess) don't necessarily need a partner to have a child. And, with the star seed concept, it's quite likely that Sailor Moon/Princess Serenity was created. There are also some allusions to Christianity, with an entity sending their only child to Earth to save it.

I agree, I think Queen Serenity created Sailor Moon. After all the Silver Crystal was capable of great things, such as granting wishes.. and Sailor Moon could have been born from Queen Serenity's love and the Crystal.

something I've noticed in the anime (not sure about the manga) Princess Serenity's crescent symbol is a tattoo of sorts but Queen Serenity if you look closely on the close ups you might notice a fine chain holding the moon symbol in place.

I always thought it was cool that Sailor "Moon" was probably someone who wasn't meant to exist because her original identity was meant to only be royalty. I had always assumed Serenity was queen serenitys clone. It just seems to make the most sense, plus it really goes along with the girl power theme of Sailor Moon. Maybe it's even a hint at women who have kids through artifical ensemination.

What is the exact meaning of "sister" (the usage of "brother(s)" in the Gospels is an issue of debate)? Did Queen Serenity design everything with a plan, or is there an element of chance involved?

Oh, and re: the Chibi/Mini Moon thing, we don't know how old Princess Serenity was when she died during the Silver Millennium, but Chibiusa "absorbed" the Ginzuishou, perhaps ahead of when the power SHOULD have been passed onto her as a Sailor Crystal (which might be capable of separating from the Star Seed/lifeforce part?). However, we know she's over 900 years old and getting the Crystal sped up her aging in the manga; she turned into a pre-teen/teen after that first transformation.

After all, why would Earth's moon have a Star Seed, but none of the other planets' moons?

Here's my theory: the Silver Crystal is a Starseed than can be "acquired". I mean, when it was owned by Queen Serenity's, it was Queen Serenity's Starseed, but when she died it passed to Usagi. Chibimoon eventually will acquire the Silver Crystal as her Starseed when she'll become Queen. I think that the Moon Princesses have a "temporary" Starseed while waiting to receive the Silver Crystal. Usagi could have the Pink Moon Crystal too before the Silver Crystal, as she's associated with pink.

I always believed that Neheilla is a sister to Queen Serenity plus Queen Serenity's husband died before the Princess was born. Just like I believe that the senshi's had/has mothers who basicly trained the chibi senshi and slowly gave their powers over. Little girls just can't automaticly know how to fight without training. I am planning to make a comic with my vision of sm explaining the past and future after stars before usagi and mamo got married. NO MILLIONS YEAR LIFE SPAN!!!

@XPrettyNekoX Well in the manga, we do see Queens who have a strong resemblance to the Inner Senshi (whom we see as young children, but older than Princess Serenity, rather than the same age as her...unless you take that weird aging into account) at the birth of Princess Serenity. It stands to reason that they are the Inner Senshi's mothers, but we never see them in costume.

I have wanted to discuss such a topic with someone for a long time... but no one around me is very deep into this topic. Anyway, I kind of like to think of the mythology of BSSM like Greek/Roman mythology since that's where many of the elements have been derived from. Queen Serenity as @usakoserenity said below, I like to think is a goddess who came to be Selene by taking residence on the moon. There is so much similarity between the mother and daughter... Guardian Cosmos, in Alex Glover's translation, says that she carried the cast off shell of a small star in her breast. And as you mentioned, Q. Serenity does appear in a flashback there. To me, it seems like before the queen even left the cauldron, she was probably pregnant with her daughter, who was born from the Cosmos' Star seed. We also never see Sailormoon's star seed/crystal guardian so, this theory makes sense to me.

@SekraMage I also noticed that possibly deliberately the Mixx/Tokyopop translation seems to imply that Queen Serenity carried the shell of the star to the cauldron so that it could be reborn. I took this to mean that Queen Serenity actually had to travel all the way to the galaxy cauldron in order for Princess Serenity to be reborn in the future

I went back to Act 23 and took a look at when Chibiusa awakened as Sailor Chibimoon. After Pluto died, one of Chibiusa's tears appears to become a Silver Crystal, and Mamoru states that she inherited Sailormoon's power, but in Act 42 Chibimoon gets her Pink Moon Crystal...
