Ok. Number one, dance is about staying on beat, but it doesn't only mean staying on the DOWN beat. . .we're not dancing "folk" dance or what not. A lot of Urban dances has hits on the off beats, syncapations and all sorts of other moves that are not always, "on beat" as you put it. As for proper form, urban dance is a lot more flexible with form, it's more of how you make the move "yours" or in other words internalize it and express it on stage honestly.
