  • its clean very fast picking awesome

  • I learned all the material from the dvd. Great stuff.

  • I do agree with musicprodave, I found him to contradict himself, all very well saying he likes a clear melody then when he plays the melody he changes it every time, great player, bad teacher

  • This guy is a monster guitar player...wow... great...but...you can't teach like that. Very bad teacher at least in this vid. Love to watch him play though.

  • one word WOW!!!!!!!!!1111

  • Bryan is the IBMA Guitarist of the Year, we're so proud!

  • what's the name of the intro song? please, thanks

  • @HDSM25 Bryan tune, "Decision At Glady Fork".

  • "here it is one more time"

Ohhh.. now I get it.... lol.

  • great player...terrible teacher. slow it down a bit more Brian

  • the best i've ever seen or heard

  • was that just one guitar or was some one doing back up rythum?

  • fuck me...that´s what I call to play the guitar...I´m gonna leave from jazz and rock...since I meet Bryan and Johnny Hiland...fuck me

  • It always surprises me how fluidly he plays 1:08. Amazing.

  • Bryan Sutton is the sickest guitar player since Tony Rice. If anybody can't listen to him play Rawhide on Ricky Skagg's 'Bluegrass Rules!' and not want to swear, sell your guitar and join a monastery, you have no clue what an amazing guitar player sounds like.

  • The guy is like "mistake? what's that?"

  • Flat out Freak!

    Guitar too

  • Not only is that technically awesome, it's beautiful. Like he says, preserve the melody or the licks mean nothing. I'm in awe. And the tone from that guitar is unbelievable.

  • Any chance you know what kind of guitar he's playing here?

  • @goopy630 Pretty sure he's playing a Bourgeois, made by Dana Bourgeois in Maine. I think Bryan is pretty much a dedicated Bourgeois player, as he's mentioned on the Bourgeois website. I'm just getting turned on to Bourgeois guitars myself; love the tone.

  • @altadena57 Yep....You are right! He's played those for a while now. I'd say he IS Bourgeois lol.

  • Good grief! I give up. Some people are just naturally gifted I guess. Back to 3 chord garage I suppose.

  • Bryan Sutton is one of the great modern super pickers. He pushes flat picking to new levels while keeping the best of the traditional flat pickers. This is an excellent piece of pickin' with some excellent musical advice!

  • the tab would look like ink splattered all over the page. sheesh.

  • Great stuff Bryan! I love Bourgeois guitars. I'm curious...what specifically is the tonewood on the back and sides of your guitar in this video?

  • @ggdshack it looks like it's probably Koa, but i could be wrong.

  • @SooperKewl its either a tropical mahogany (not sure what kind) or cocobolo

  • no secret why they were calling this guy "the Intimidator" since he was 17. jeez!

  • freakin awesome

  • this would sound AWESOME on distortion!

  • I like your demeanor. YOu rock and are humble. Cool.

  • what is the song called at the very start of this video pls?

  • Decision at Glady Fork.

  • "Subconcious"? I didn't see that listed in any of my music lessons or books anywhere. Hmm

  • great player...he plays the melody not like the authentic melody, but instead goes subconcious like a good player, and lets his improvised melody evoke the listener to hear the authentic melody....thats the mark of an artist..hats off to you

  • Just remember, you have to learn play something slow, and in time before playing it fast. Stick with it measure by measure and you will get it over time. Thanks for watching these video clips.

  • Hey Fanofchet and Robby, don't give up fella's, Bryan didn't always sound that good either. Hang in there.

  • I watched this, put my guitar back in its case and started looking for my fishing tackle.

  • Lays down guitar and quietly leaves the room

  • @robby0609 lol! You and me both brother!

  • wow. awesome. what's the guitar, I wonder?

  • Bourgeois - made by Dana Bourgeois in Lewiston, Maine

  • He has a rhytm player in the back,..

  • Love how he ends it! =)

  • I mastered it the first try....Oh wait, that wasn't me.....

  • Notice he says this is a lesson for beginners........ I'd hate to see the advanced lesson

  • Sure break it down Bryan, I now feel like breaking my guitar.

  • holy shnikes!!...that crosspickin is a killer....I guess there's nothin to it but to do it...!!..one o those things you just have to practice and take forever to learn...

  • Gee, All I need now is a guitar!

    LOL

    You're great!

  • Really cool tune in C. Thanks for sharing. You're a great player!

  • HÁ mennyé a picsába hogy tanujjam ezt meg???:D:D:D

  • The master there...

  • it's just not fair.

  • makes it look easy
