@Aztlnight They're both excellent singers! It's kinda tough to decree who is the better... Ian Gillan is a legend! That's for sure! Michael Kiske is the unforgotten singer of one of the best power metal band... In my opinion, Bruce Dickinson and Geoff Tate should deserve an honourable mention too!
@hermygagala Ronnie James Dio, Mike Starrs, Burton Cummings...ETC... I mean Ian Gillian and Michael Kiske are Gods too but you gotta mention these guys too. As well as the previous one's I mention. Anyway great video and Michael Kiske is very underrated to my mind.
@hermygagala They're all great singers! I'd add Geoff Tate and Freddy Curci too! Currently I've been cramming for my exams, but I'll take those names into consideration when I have some free time...
There's no doubt... Kiske has got one of the most versatile voices I've ever listened to so far...And, what a piece of news!!! I've recently heard that he has made up a new band: "Unisonic"... I do think I'll get their album... :-)
You're right... But it's in harmony, the lead vocal line is F5 as I pointed out. In my videos I left out all the harmonized vocal lines... For example, Bruce Dickinson (go and see my video about him) hits C5 in Flash Of The Blade but I didn't point it out at all, though in the lead line he hits A4.
One of my all-time favorites is Joey Belladonna on Anthrax, but only on the Spreading the Disease album and Armed and Dangerous EP. I don't know what happened to his voice on Among the Living and after, but it was never the same. Other favourites include Freddie Mercury, Bono, Ian Gillan, Bruce Dickinson and Ronnie James Dio. Also, I haven' t heard much of his music, but I'm astounded by Daniel Heiman's singing just from what I hear in Jowox's video on his high notes.
My personal fav. singer is The Metal God Rob Halford and than King Diamond.
But gotta love Barlow, Kotipelto, Kiske, Gillan, Dickinson, Lee Roth, Lynn Turner, Coverdale, Kakko, Mercury, Dio, Sebastian Bach, Staley and other great voices!!!!
es verdad y actualmente su voz suena mejor aunque no lo creas aunque ya no cante en una banda de power metal su voz actual suena o igual o mejor que hace 18 años
Wow, nice researching work and very well done editing. :))
Personally, what I like most, are those 'E5 melodies' :P I'm just in love (lol) with that.
Those E5's (and F5's) at Future World, Helloween, Dr. Stein, We got the Right, Save us!!! (this I like most), March of time ("Never stop yes Time..." -the 2nd one-), "Sometimes we need to be ..." :$ sorry, I Want Out, Mankind, and AAAAAAAAAAAAA Yap!! :$ The Chance :p :$ :p
It depends on several factors... Kiske is surely one of the mest metal singers ever but if you consider the middle-high range Dickinson is far better 'cause he's got a powerful voice...
Jowox, thanks for your comment! Yes I've seen your Kiske videos. Really great!!! If you're searching for a live album with Kiske on vocals then listen to "Helloween" - "Live in the UK" (1989)... Great performance by Michael Kiske!!!

Kiske hits an A5 in the harmony in "Someone's Crying"!

I can understand that, but this is Kiske's highest note, so I would think it would deserve some sort of mention.
Tarantinomaniac 2 years ago 2
Undoubtedly A5 represents his highest note ever! Thanks for the tip...
winterbringer 2 years ago
Yes, well, you included the clip with his highest note ever, so it was just a suggestion on my part that you make a mention of that in the info.
Tarantinomaniac 2 years ago 3
Tarantnomaniac who are your favourite singers? I take the opportunity of thanking you for the suggestion.

Thanks for your comment! You're right, the melodies that Michael Kiske sang in the "Keepers' years" were really amazing!

What are the E5,E4,D2,D5,A4,A3 and all these weird stuff next to the songs??
arryanpath 3 years ago
Well, I pointed out the highest note or the melody concerning the highest notes that Michael Kiske reaches in each song.
/ means the switch from one note to another;
- means two different clips from the same song.
For example, "I'm Alive: F#5" means that note is the highest of the song.
winterbringer 3 years ago
Oooooh. Thanks for the info. And nice compilation. Kiske is one of the best vocalists in Metal scene indeed.
arryanpath 3 years ago
You're welcome my friend... Thanks! Kiske is surely to be pointed out among the best metal singers...

It's such a shame Kiske never recorded A5 in a lead vocal, he was obviously capable of nailing it in his prime
axisundone 3 years ago
another excellent video!! You have seen my kiske videos? search for kiske and octave wonder!
a shame that a live album with kiske never was released. he hits some great screams in songs like judas, ride the sky and How many tears.
dr stein has a layered G5 and someone´s crying a layered A5.
