Thanks Jim. Enjoyed it 1000%. I'm 60, boring, a stranger, (other folks here seems to know you), and this is my favourite bit of music of all time; and I am addicted to creative covers. I just love watching what great music inspires. Loved that your guitar skill let you put your own heart in the song. You drove it with passion. Rough Boys is meant to be played 1000 ways with soul, and you sure in hell did one of them. Too short man. I hated it coming to an end.
Thanks very much for those kind words. I wish I'd had a better camera with a better microphone for that video shoot. I didn't put a finger wrong all day on my guitar. It was a freakishly good day! I'm just really glad people are looking and listening past the poor quality and getting into the music.
Thanks for the compliment Dave. But it's not like I just woke up this morning and discovered: OMG! My hands are big! What am I gonna do now? 40 years of pumping iron and 15 years driving big trucks with no power steering will do that to a fella. I've just learned to work with what I have.
Wow, what a surprise! Yeah, still rockin' out. Nothing else to do with my time, lol!
Talizman are still together too. We're back to three-piece again since Duffy quit in late 2007. There just wasn't the work back then and we've been up and down since. Three piece seems to work better anyway.
If you go through the videos on my channel home page you'll find some from us recorded back in June 2010.
I see you guys are still pumping as well. That's great!
Thanks mate. It's one of my favorites too. They do it live and long like I do. On the studio version they fade it out just as the guitar starts getting interesting!
Great job. It never fails to amaze me how people seat behind their keyboard and make fun or bad comments. The fact is, they probably can't even play and they don't have the guts to play in front of others. I give anyone props for making music. Don't listen to the ignorant people and keep on rockin!
Thanks for your support, friend. Actually the comments you see here aren't that insulting compared to what I've seen on other videos. People will use any forum they can find to vent their spleen and pour out their vitriolic bile on subjects totally unrelated to the video on which their comments appear and then engage in running battles with other psychos whose opinions don't match theirs. I'd never let that happen on any of my videos. The odd "You suck!" just makes me laugh
I'm perfectly happy with my guitar tone as it stands, thanks. Gibson into Marshall is where it's at. You're only hearing what the tiny condenser mic in my el cheapo video camera was capable of picking up. The whole thing is completely lacking in bottom end due to the limitations of the camera. I've since bought a better one and when I can get someone to film me playing those songs with the better camera, I'll delete the old videos. I'm too busy gigging anyway.
Well, since I'd be the one who has to sing it . . . regrettably, no. But life ain't over. I have a guitar magazine backing track to Iron Man, and if I can devote enough time to it, it may be possible. Ozzy's vocals are right up there though and as a Blues singer it may be too challenging for me. Thanks for the 10/10.
Thanks for the compliment mate. Those good nights are becoming fewer and farther between now. The pub where I played this gig doesn't even have live music any more!
very good vocals very zz like.if you cant make much money from singing and playing why dont you take up boxing or something like that.you look like a right hard case lol :)
I do play with a bass player and drummer, as you'll see on some of my other videos on my site. The band is called Talizman. Unfortunately the sad reality is that to make a living as a musician I have to work alone. It's the only way to make enough money. The pubs simply don't pay bands what they're worth. I get gigs in places that can't afford bands because I SOUND like a band at quieter volume. I'm not happy about that situation but I'm smart enough to work within the system.
