I recently applied at a VA Hospital for my medical benefits. I was told i didn't qualify because i make to much money. I joined in 1974 as the Vietnam war was winding down. However i went in knowing i may have to take lives or loose my own. I am so pissed at our government for lying to me. Never was i told that i would not qualify for my VA benefits when i might be making to much money in the future. This country has gone to pot. Those lying Bastards.
@TheDonnaEl Not to sound rude or anything, but if they are so well paid, how about you joining. I went in the military knowing I would only be making around $1100 a month, and that is nothing knowing you are not going to be home for most holidays, childrens birthdays and birth of your children. Granted if you live in military quarters your electric, water are free. But that is still nothing for what soldiers have to put on the line. I dont know what you think they make but it is not that much.
Applying can be maddening. My law firm helps vets & spouses apply for the aid & attendance pension which is the ONLY VA pension we handle. The A&A pension is designed to cover in-home care, nursing home or assisted living care. Call us if you are having problems or want information. No charge for telephone consultation. Jim Underhill, Underhill & Underhill 800-465-1266. We never charge the vet or spouse anything for filing applications. We are VA Accredited. Jim Underhill (MAJ, USAR Ret.)
