I remember Bill Cullen saying that he really liked this show, but no one really gave it a chance to work.
Also, with regards to what was "missing", this show never really had a defined bonus round, which was common among the more popular shows at the time. It isn't really exciting if nobody can win $5K or $10K in one pop.
Thanks so much. I've never seen an episode and I know there are not many around as they were erased by the network. Nice to see Bill Cullen and hear Bob Clayton announcing. Not a bad show.
Just to note for the historical record, the show did not keep this format for its entire run.
Later on, the Strikes were dropped and the game became a race, with points won for solving puzzles added to each team's bank. The first team to bank $2,000 or more won the game and tried to double their bank by solving the Blankety Blank.
I dunno, myself... the game is fine, but I just can't help but think it's *missing* something, somewhere along the way - even after the format changed...
I remember this game when I was a kid, and I liked it. It was enjoyable, although the "Blankety Blank" puns were often easy. Does it seem that games who rely on puns for answers are not really successful (case in point: Blackout, exception: Jackpot!)?

Even though some of the shows were horrific for one reason or another Bill had a way of understanding it.

It wasn't THAT bad of a game show.
Maybe it could have gone better in Canada.

They recycled the theme music a decade later for "Double Talk".

The bell is the same bell heard on The $20,000 Pyramid. :-)

That is because both shows were taped in the Elysee Theater off W58th Street #202 just two blocks away from Central Park.

@gameshowluvr86 This is a Bob Stewart game show, no doubt.
