i just bought some from a local skateshop and i just had bones stfs and im worried that my $80 (new zealand dollars not US)will go down the drain from due to flatspots ..I just want to know how they compare to Stfs ..They are they Guy Mariano street burners 53mm
They have a good slide, but they grip better when you want them to... like in a bowl pocket or on masonite. They're good at fighting flats... that's why I ride 'em.
What makes a wheel good to me may not be the same as good to you, so I don't know how to answer that. They're different from Stfs. I like them better, but some other people may feel differently.
Thanks for the reply ..Yea so after watching a few review videos i feel slightly better about them but i was wondering can you do any powerslides or reverts on them without getting flatspots ?
Do you have any experience with any of the wheels I mention before;Clear cut and Lance Mountain neon pink? Probably not because they are very new items on sale. It seems that the clear cut are very light wheels and the Lance Mountain 56mm quite fast.Anyway, what's your opinion about the size of the Lance Mountain 56mm? do you think that these 56mm are good for skateparks and miniramps? Thanks Neal and sorry for writing too much, too many questions.
I actually got a set of Lance Mountain 54's at the same time I got he Lizard Kings (I got them a few weeks before they went to market, I was at Deluxe hanging with my friend Jim who helps run the place and he hooked me up with some random stuff that hadn't dropped yet). Anyway, I've been staring at these Pink Lance's for months now, and decided to set them up this weekend. I've ridden a few of Spits dyed 'thanes (as well as Johnny Romano's swirled wheels) and dig 'em all. Can't wait to ride 'em!
Well, I actually know a couple of cats that work in the industry, but I'm just really glad to know Jim for who he is. When I was younger, he was one of my favorite pros because he always came across as humble and sick... now he still skates hard and he still bleeds skating and loves it like he was still a kid. I value his friendship and feel lucky to know him, his crew, and his family. The people behind Deluxe are one of the reasons I support them so much, they've been there for me, too.
I've seen that the spitfire has a huge variety of wheels (colour, size, shape) some of them have a really original design. I'm a kind of person that not only mind about the performance of the wheel which is very important but also I like the wheels that look fancy and different rather than the typical white natural wheels. I'm waiting for 2 set of spitfire wheels I ordered today on internet: The clear cut blue core 53mm wheels and the Lance Mountain Neon pink 56mm...
Hi Neal, yesterday before going to work I watched the video F1streetburner in the spitfire wheels website and I've got to say that it's awesome! it's one of your best reviews I've seen. I don't know if you remember I was after a colorful wheels, so after having a look to differents wheels companies finally I've bought the spitfire Lizard King signature 52mm (each wheel has different colour) I'll try them soon I'll tell you how they respond in different terrains.
Yeah, I remember for sure... I think I might have mentioned Hubba and some other brands.
Stoked that you found some wheels, and my bias towards DLX has me extra stoked that your riding Spits, haha! Definitely give me a shout and tell me how you're liking them, hopefully you get what you need from them! w00t!
One thing I love about your vids is that I always see something different in your skating... Like I tottaly wasnt expecting the Nose manual front flip.
thanks neal so mutch for helping to put hammond on the map.every pair of spits i get some how to get really small quick or get flat spots so i got some bones stfs but i havent got burners yet might go pick up a pair at the shop
If there is a new formula, I'm gonna have to give em another shot down the road. I really like the rest of the DLX line up, and your devotion to the wheels is about the same way I feel toward DLX wood. I'm gonna assume that set I rode must have been a defective set. That stuff is just a part of skating, the same boards I rant about, I've gotten bad ones that broke the same day. No company is perfect but, the DLX guys are pretty close to having every thing I need.
I know you posted this ages ago, but I just caught it and wanted to say I'm pretty much identical to you about DLX. Everyone has a bias, and Deluxe is mine, no doubt. Cheers, hope you have a great 2010!
I had a set of kosten f1s back in the spring. They didn't live up to any of the hype you just gave them. After a week I got tired of riding wheels that flatted every time I went out. I gave them to a kid who did nothing but complain about how bad his free wheels sucked. Unless they compound is changed drastically I wouldn't try another set of f1s. I hope that I got a bad batch, because compared to bones stf I rode after the spits, the spits didn't come close to performing like i expected them.
I can't speak to your situation, all I can offer up is mine. Like I said, I've been riding them since day one, and I ride them now.
They have gone through a compound change, the line has gone through three changes all together, but I only know that because I was told, I never really felt any difference between versions.
STFs are a fine wheel though, Just go with what works for you homie.
you look so much more pro when you leave out all the bails, that's kinda funny. also man that wide angle is doing freaky deaky things to your arm when you start moving around, haha!

Are the Spitfires as good as bones Stf?
are they like slide able and flat spot resistant

We gotta represent where we're from man!
Only difference is, I like people visiting and getting down with us versus "FU outsiders!" haha
I just love Hammond, and I'm real proud at how all of us have been able to chip in and make it what it is, you know? 'Ole Hambone is the place to be!
