Ugh. Worst proposal ever. Do I want a guy to drone on and on about his own insecurities and anxieties when he pops the question? Um no. Guys, you need to work through that BS with your buddies so that when you get ready to propose, you do it in loving, respectful, beautiful way. Rob's gf in this clip is acting more like his mother than his lover. Why? Because he's still just a boy, emotionally. She should not have come back to him.
Love this film.. I can reflect on so many parts of it! Love sucks!! BUT it can also be the best thing ever! Too many films about love are boring holywood mush crap! It never touches on the more realistic aspects of it.. personally I would never have taken Laura back for what she did.. BUT that also explains why I am bitter and single..
@DavidianLDA i thought i was the first, i was searching for the second, but i didn't find, sorry man. there's a list with all the musics in this movie, but some of them there are not avaliable in youtube, so i could not discovered which one is this:/
This film is great because we see Rob really grow and change as he comes to understand himself and his relationship with Laura. And this scene encapsulates his growth.
I love this movie because it's realistic. Yes, Rob and Lara have a strong bond but there are practical issues involved as well that most movies never touch upon.
@MJCarollson it's not realistic. A vast majority of couples that break up don't get back together. All the characters in the movie end up getting something they want. The movie was good until it started showing what the viewers wanted to see.
i love the part when he says ''would you marry me if i was?''. best scene in the entire movie. yeah sure, barry and dick are hilarious but scenes like this are what makes the film (:
Forget all the nerd talk and Jack Black, this is the film right here. As a prelude, you could attach the scene after the funeral where she jumps him in his car, his speech here is a reflection of that.
By the way, ladies, the overall idea applies to you too. As if men are more picky than women... May I refer you to Anna Kendrick's character in "Up in the Air"? :)
@sammytheseal814 I was actually looking for that scene and found this one. Rob sitting in the rain talking about keeping one foot out the door as Dylan's "Most Of The Time" plays in the background is the essence of this movie. Dick & Barry are great, but I agree...these scenes are the true heart of the film.
@renmazou21 - Yes.. any guy who thinks about marrying his long time girl should watch this scene.. The most important part of this scene I think is her response to it all, because she understands him and what he was saying. If a guy said that to a girl and she didn't get it or started fighting because he sounded unsure or because he points out her boring underwear, then that's a good indication of what their marriage would be like. Although this is a movie.. This is a conversation that's real.
@scribbled309 She's still very active, however I read in a danish interview she decieded to focus on her carreer here in Denmark, cause after having filmed abroad she felt she wanted to be close to her loved ones, (especially her son +stepchildren and enjoy them, spend time with them whilst they're still young enough to be living at home)
Who needs mariage anyway? The important thing is that after all the shit they both went through, their together again. That should be enough, right?

Why doesn't this woman get more work: she's a damn goddess... ?
scribbled309 1 year ago
She is a godess, but her career is in Europe--and mostly in non-English language films--which is why we don't see her as much over here.
