My brother Markus Bott had been tortured during 5.5 years by the German BND,the former GESTAPO. I recorded more than 100 videotapes which ended up in the legal system. My brother was tortured during 1.5 years despite several legal procedures pending. He was assassinated on July 11th 2009 because of our homepage, linked on my channel, and our book Der Totalitäre Staat. If my homepage disappears, the BND will have assassinated me as well
Thumbs up if you want the BND to stop torturing my parents
@Squarerig It's not as cool as you think it is. 40 hrs of drivers training plus 110 miles of day and night student driving. Plus wearing all the crap like your vest and helmet. RG-33's turn like a super tanker, and the back end bounces like crazy so you better be belted in if you're in the back. Also no room if you're tall or big as the driver or TC. Lot's checks to do before you go out every time to. MRAP's will roll if you turn too fast.
@Isabugas yes, the key phrase in what you said is "if". If you were English, or French, or whatever. Although back in reality, you are Portuguese, a real powerhouse as far as military might goes. So effective that you really have not participated as a truly functional ally in a war since WWI. Congrats. You can try and "smite" with your elite capabilities, but I doubt there are any Portuguese alive today who have participated in real conventional warfare.
can this vehicle cross a deep river ? like EVROS here in Greece!! turkey just bought some of these things!! if they can cross this river then they will have to face A LOT OF MINES!! anyway!! i don't think this vehicle can live after 5or10 explosions!!!
Yea MRAPs are badass. My dad is currently over in Afghanistan and is in charge of one of these. He also is the .50 gunner. Im glad i don't have to worry about him because of these.
@8maxthemax8 well not exactly sure but i think at least 70-80Mph. He said they could do donuts, but keep in mind its on dirt roads. Depends which MRAP it is i guess. There are atleast 4-5 MRAPs in a convoy.
@kronic254.. Agreed.. thoe onsidering the way companys are spread out these days it could have been designed in 50 different countries.. Armor in one, drive train in another, electronics some where else etc etc etc..
Sure alot of BIG players got Rich of this contract ----Chinese would have just send jeeps ----ONE gets IEDed all of Bagdad and all other small twons and cities get nuked plain and simple--reason I loved buyt hated Tom Cruise in War of the Worlds total bullshit Aliens with that much Intelligence would not know atomosphere polluted with Germs ..so my ending total extermination of every human Fuck em all!
It is an interesting vehicle- but it use mass defeat IED which IMHO is false thought.
Explosive overpressure of TNT/RDX for IED is commonly 10-20 psi. Clever aerodynamic shapes can deflect such wave and a low c of g (MRAP c of g is very high) is advantageous as vehicle will not tip and be vulnerable. Following F=ma, lower mass reduce kinetic force thus large mass= diaadvs.
Smaller, lighter vehicle with strong monococque is a better solution. Thus the German KMW Fennek- safer & faster.
Hmm just doing some rought figures, the few SA vehicles that are in the MRAP program make up less then 10% of United states armed forces operated MRAP vehicles =) Maybe get your facts straight next reply =) Cheers
90%?? Your kidding right? Out of 8 different MRAP vehicles that have been selected and approved to date, Only 1 of the 8 is of SA design, Yes they have been designed from lessons with earlier UK, South African and Rhodesian MRAP vehicles. If you are trying to say because SA made the Casspir then congratulations, All Jet aircraft, Assault rifles, ballistic missiles, night vision, guided weapons etc,.. Are all German =)
@69sexdemon69 it is honestly hard to say where they are all designed and made, e.g a MRAP could be designed and made in South Africa, but sold to u as a British Product... reason being the company who sells it to the US could be BAE land systems which is a British company but OMC the South Africa company who Designs and makes the MRAP is a Subsidiary of BAE land Systems
@kronic254 The basic platform is made in Garland TX at a International plant. It gets outfitted I believe in Missisippi. My brother is an engineer there.
@Venom0ZA, Getting soft huh? Naha.. Its getting smart, Keeping the soldiers refreshed and ready for battle 6-10 times faster then a soldier with out air con/cool drinking water (in desert conditions), Its smart and logical. but hey, You think your so tough? Lose the night vision, satellite's, air cover, guns, tanks, artillery, etc and go back to fighting with your hands.. Once you done that.. then you want be one of them "soft" soldiers, Just disrespectful to say that about any soldier serving.
@69sexdemon69 Funny how the successful Armies in the world did very well without a water cooler in their truck. No Disrespect, I was one too i did very well without things like that yes, I guess I was tougher. Well that's why I was in specialised unit I suppose.
Done all that mate without any laptops, night vision as you say and no I still would not want to be a 'soft' soldier. Getting smart is using your head to cool your water without a water cooler when there isn't one. Think about it.
@69sexdemon69 Secondly, think why 90% of vehicles in the MRAP program are South African made/Licenced and sold to the U.S
We focus on safety and mobility not Hotel Accommodation. Air-Con I can understand cold air saves lives, cold water doesn't.
Don't get me wrong, the Bushmaster is a nice vehicle and a good try for the Aussies. I'm glad they came up with something for their Soldiers and they using a South African design too.
@Venom0ZA The basic platform is made in Garland TX at a International plant. It gets outfitted I believe in Missisippi. My brother is an engineer there.
@Venom0ZA negative. force protection bought the rights from the SA company and made the original US MRAP's. even the hull's are slightly different in shape and design then the casspir. the cougar 4x4, 6x6 (early cougars were jervs) and buffalo are made right here in the US and are 100% hand made. force protection is a us company. SA did have the hull design first, FP bought it made it sustantually better, the only non US made MRAPS are the husky and RG 31, 33
You want comfort go for Aussie Bushmaster, Comfy seats, Aircon, Cooled drinking system, Cant go wrong with it.. Ask any US soldier that's hitched a ride in one..
So much Kit Bash of the South African vehicles that started it all. Want cool water? leave the army, it was never intended to be a hotel. Guys are getting soft these days :) and Yes I have been in hotter weather than Iraq trust me (In a Caspir)!
Wow couldn't believe what I have just seen ..... Again and again the USA war machine want's to take credit where it dosen't earn it ....... Search South Africa and Rhodesian wars long before Nam or Iraq !
Brinks and wells fargo should invest in this ........sorry , loomis fargo, my mistake, they should look into this to replace their aging armoured car fleet
nice,i worked on one of thoes reciently,90% of the time i work on Fire trucks, airport crash trucks and ambulance, the FBI in my state uses one of thoes,it had a broblem where it was blowing off the turbo plumbing,it was a quick fix thoe.....
does the canadian armed forces have these? i ask because i am applying for the canadian forces as a combat engineer i only have my medical to do then basic id much rather cruise in one of these instead of a humvee
this is all bullshit - these designs arent american - its all stolen from various South African APC designs such as RG32, RG31, Casspir etc - fucking theives!!
Get mine today! Where, Ebay? lol. Those things are awsome, we have them over here in UK, and other varients of them. We have a nice new 4x4, The 'Jackal' replaceing many of the WMIK's.
I did a tour in Baghdad, with an MP Unit.U.S. Army, The only time I saw M-RAP was outside of Green Zone, or inside. They are indeed safer the what I was in. M114 UP Armored.
true, a humvee is not meant to be in battle, its meant to go behind enemy lines and to carry troops and gear, tanks are what go into battle, humvees are amazing and great at offroading, but at the time they didnt have the problems with the IED's as they do now, so they didnt design them to survive that
Im in the British army just come back from southern Iraq. Used the British version (american made) but with more armour(heavy) Lived in one for 4 weeks in basra city. people know these are tough and normally dont bother to set off the IED, EFP. Simple to drive rev and go! Small arms dont stand a chance with these nor does 50 cal (unsustained) seen the pic when one got hit by 500lb ied the engine blew away so did the wheels everyone was ok. oh and i have seen these drive on 3 wheels. Amazing kit.
The Marine Corps or Army would be your best bet, the ones I rode around in belonged to Marines in Anbar Province. Or you could just get a job working for one of the companies that make them! They're pretty sweet, but you don't want to be in the back of one for a 7 hour convoy. They're not exactly built for comfort! hahaha
the ventage military truck that the US Gave to Armed Forces of Philippines.. Fron Vietnam war era to date... we Call it the killer truck.. or widow maker...
