Does anyone know the lyrics or where I can find them? The more I hear AIC and Mad Season, the more I love them and I have been listening to them for going on 20 years.
i mourn for all who feel what layne felt. its rough, hang in as long as you can like layne did. he never quit, he never purposely overdosed to end his pain, he endured his burden that he blamed himself for until his body couldnt keep him alive anymore. it takes a high level of strength to be willing to bear your own cross like that and few men get the recognition for that strength. but i recognize it and i see it in his face and hear it in his voice during every single performance he ever did.
@nashnwo1234 Hell yeah man! Layne was the inspiration for Metallica naming their last album Death Magnetic...for Layne to inspire James, Lars, Kirk and Rob...man that says a lot. He's a god damn hero to me!
@roberg03 Metallica are assholes. when Layne was going through bad times and couldn't tour they MOCKED him. they are hypocrites and assholes. and when they mocked him they were boo'd by their own crowd...
Stop asking if it was written for Layne Staley. Since nowhere in the song is there the word Layne, and since there is only one famous person named Layne, and since its about wanting to die and only one Layne killed himself its pretty clear
Love this song its awesome dedication to that beautiful man Layne Staley. True story I went to college in Seattle around the time of his death. I lived like 5 blocks away from his condo. I seen him walking around the street a few times but never actually knew who he was.Well at the time he didn't look like hisself. RIP Layne we love and miss you buddy.
@AICsilverchair428 yes it was written for layne. staind also did a song called layne and eddie vedder also wrote a song for layne called 4/20/02 which was when he found out, as well as we all did, that layne was gone. this guy was well respected throughout the music industry.
Zakk Wylde respect +1, any artist who pays tribute to a deceased musician (especially one as great and influential as Layne or Kurt) is alright in my book.
ukilledmydog, you obviously have not listened to alot of Wylde's and BLS's music ,he wrote a song about Dimebag after he was shot in tribute. Zakk seems like a very respectful and honarable man paying respect to our lost memories and past in Layne and Dimebag you fucking disrespectful fuck-nut! Two people we could not afford to lose at all and we did,i didnt think Zakk sang like Layne in this song.
god people on youtube are SO FUCKIN STUPID,and whine and bitch about everything, zakk has always sounded like layne/ozzy...so just stfu he wrtoe this has a tribute to a fallen hero,so just stfu and enjoy the song and rip LAYNE
whoever sys zakk is tryin to be layne is a twat for one thisis one off the ways zakk sings and if he is tring to sound like alice he sounds more like jerry
I don't see this as any sort of an insult, it's not some sort of a competition, it's a tribute to a great musician, and anyone who takes this as "insulting", is a fucking dumbass, but it doesn't concern you regardless so I'd just keep quiet if I were you.
why people complain 4 shut the fuck up and listen to the lyrics he wrote this 4 a friend not to compete to see what tribute song is better 4 layne..... FUCK... YOUR NOT SINGING IT YOUR NOT PLAYING THE JAM ZAKK AINT GONNA GIVE A FUCK WHAT U THINK CAUSE U MEAN SHIT AND THIS WAS A SONG 4 LAYNE....NOT U STUPID LAMES!!!! R.I.P. LAYNE STALEY AND DIMEBAG NEVER WILL BE 4GOTTEN
@Sanguine1987 If you check on Wikipedia, Hangover Music Vol. VI. page, it says this song is tribute to Layne Staley. Zakk also said that in some interview.
R.I.P Layne.

@AICsilverchair428 Of course he does. They both hanged out with each other back in the day. AIC to me is far more metal than it is grunge.
