  • R.I.P Layne.

  • Does anyone know the lyrics or where I can find them? The more I hear AIC and Mad Season, the more I love them and I have been listening to them for going on 20 years.

  • @bikeflow1 yes

  • Imagine if Layne could have teamed up with zakk and bls that could have been killer

  • Rest in peace Layne,u are loved and missed...xox

  • i mourn for all who feel what layne felt. its rough, hang in as long as you can like layne did. he never quit, he never purposely overdosed to end his pain, he endured his burden that he blamed himself for until his body couldnt keep him alive anymore. it takes a high level of strength to be willing to bear your own cross like that and few men get the recognition for that strength. but i recognize it and i see it in his face and hear it in his voice during every single performance he ever did.

  • you'd be SHOCKED to know how many singers layne inspired.

  • @nashnwo1234 Hell yeah man! Layne was the inspiration for Metallica naming their last album Death Magnetic...for Layne to inspire James, Lars, Kirk and Rob...man that says a lot. He's a god damn hero to me!

  • @roberg03 How was Layne the inspiration?

  • @roberg03 Metallica are assholes. when Layne was going through bad times and couldn't tour they MOCKED him. they are hypocrites and assholes. and when they mocked him they were boo'd by their own crowd...

  • wow, a song about dime and then a song for layne.i just love zakk!!

  • @bikeflow1 yes it written in memory of Layne Staley.

  • zakk cant sing? I fucking love his voice.

  • @bikeflow1 100% R.I.P SDMF!!

  • arhg zakk can't sing.....sorry but he sing like a crow with throat problem...

  • @saurusviridis thats just cause youre not a rock fan. his voice screams rock.

  • @saurusviridis Sorry he's not using autotune.

  • @bikeflow1

    It is about Layne.

  • Those are some horrible vocals there.

  • Stop asking if it was written for Layne Staley. Since nowhere in the song is there the word Layne, and since there is only one famous person named Layne, and since its about wanting to die and only one Layne killed himself its pretty clear

  • layne didnt kill himself son he overdosed on a speedball just thought you should know

  • @sweetlou3547 was more than likely intentional, eitherway it was an OD so the therefore killed himself

  • zakk wylde sounds like a mix of ozzy and layne

  • Love this song its awesome dedication to that beautiful man Layne Staley. True story I went to college in Seattle around the time of his death. I lived like 5 blocks away from his condo. I seen him walking around the street a few times but never actually knew who he was.Well at the time he didn't look like hisself. RIP Layne we love and miss you buddy.

  • @bikeflow1 Yes it is go look it up and it should say it the description

  • If I ever have a son, I want to name him Layne.....Zakk is a close second.

  • @HEAVYfukkinMETAL Never in life my friend I don't agree I will never do

  • Praise to Zakk and RIP Layne...

  • Layne Staley =(

  • Is this song about Layne Staley of Alice in chains? I didn't know he liked aic, if this is that's a very nice gesture to Layne Staley RIP.

  • @AICsilverchair428 Of course he does. They both hanged out with each other back in the day. AIC to me is far more metal than it is grunge.

  • @AICsilverchair428 yes it was written for layne. staind also did a song called layne and eddie vedder also wrote a song for layne called 4/20/02 which was when he found out, as well as we all did, that layne was gone. this guy was well respected throughout the music industry.

  • @bikeflow1 yes ..that's written in wiki

"Zakk Wylde also wrote a song about Staley called "Layne" on Black Label Society's 2004 album" in the legacy section in layne staley's page

  • @bikeflow1 wikipedia layne staley if you want it in writing...

  • God's Personal Band:

    Guitar: Randall William Rhoads

    Guitar: James Marshall Hendrix

    Drums: John Henry Bonham

  • @DarthMorbius1977 also vocals Ronnie James Dio

  • i dont think god dies of overdoses lol

  • Zakk Wylde respect +1, any artist who pays tribute to a deceased musician (especially one as great and influential as Layne or Kurt) is alright in my book.

  • Layne was a God!

  • Is he trying to sing like Layne too?

Or is that always how he sounds?

I don't listen to BLS, so this is a serious question.

  • @burdeninmyhands That's pretty much how the whole album sounds.

  • @burdeninmyhands No thats how he sings thats his original vocal range

  • @bikeflow1 yeah its about Layne Staley just go to wikipedia and search for Layne Staley and then Legacy

  • R.I.P. layne!

  • LAYNE ALIVE FOREVER!!!!!!!

  • @bikeflow1 yes this song has been composed from Zakk Wilde for Layne!!!

  • @bikeflow1 Yes it is

  • @bikeflow1

yes, it is. read it on wikipedia. not sure if it can be true, but i do think it is.

  • this is a song for layne staley

  • @bikeflow1 Yes

  • RIP Layne, you took another hit, though you should've known better

  • @ and he died young... beautiful song this tribute to him...

  • i love the line "if i could, you know id die"

an obvious reference to the closing lines of would?

  • Beautiful song that still sends shivers up my spine and arms. RIP Layne- I hope I meet you on the other side.

  • Will never forget you Layne!

  • beautiful.

  • best singer and most riveting story of all time. love you layne.

  • ukilledmydog, you obviously have not listened to alot of Wylde's and BLS's music ,he wrote a song about Dimebag after he was shot in tribute. Zakk seems like a very respectful and honarable man paying respect to our lost memories and past in Layne and Dimebag you fucking disrespectful fuck-nut! Two people we could not afford to lose at all and we did,i didnt think Zakk sang like Layne in this song.

  • rip layne

  • Layne would have totally dug this...RIP Layne. YOU ARE MISSED!!

  • Layne Staley .... one of the best vocals of all time .... R.I.P !!!

  • god people on youtube are SO FUCKIN STUPID,and whine and bitch about everything, zakk has always sounded like layne/ozzy...so just stfu he wrtoe this has a tribute to a fallen hero,so just stfu and enjoy the song and rip LAYNE

  • whoever sys zakk is tryin to be layne is a twat for one thisis one off the ways zakk sings and if he is tring to sound like alice he sounds more like jerry

  • RIP Layne

  • I don't see this as any sort of an insult, it's not some sort of a competition, it's a tribute to a great musician, and anyone who takes this as "insulting", is a fucking dumbass, but it doesn't concern you regardless so I'd just keep quiet if I were you.

  • why people complain 4 shut the fuck up and listen to the lyrics he wrote this 4 a friend not to compete to see what tribute song is better 4 layne..... FUCK... YOUR NOT SINGING IT YOUR NOT PLAYING THE JAM ZAKK AINT GONNA GIVE A FUCK WHAT U THINK CAUSE U MEAN SHIT AND THIS WAS A SONG 4 LAYNE....NOT U STUPID LAMES!!!! R.I.P. LAYNE STALEY AND DIMEBAG NEVER WILL BE 4GOTTEN

  • i admit its not the best tribute song to layne....pearl jams and maybe stainds are slightly better but then again its not a competition.....

RIP the greatest singer of all time

  • nah id say this is better

  • ah its hard to compare the two....but to be fair the best tribute has to be black gives way to blue

  • It's funny how Zakk tries to sing like Layne in this song! I love this. Such a fitting tribute to a master.

  • What's not to appreciate about this song? It's a fitting song for Layne both in lyric and melody.

  • thats beautiful

  • Anything written for Layne is good in my book.

  • I completely agree

  • The "Goodbye" parts sound just like stuff on Facelift.. chills.. RIP is all I can say. Zakk's amazing.

  • 100% for Layne Stalet and about Layne. Zakk, at a concert I went to played this and said this is for Layne Staley.

  • Yes, zakk make it for layne Staley

  • Probably Yes... but I haven't seen it in any reviews.

  • @Sanguine1987 yes it is.

  • @Sanguine1987 If you check on Wikipedia, Hangover Music Vol. VI. page, it says this song is tribute to Layne Staley. Zakk also said that in some interview.
