@chris3d165 affordability. if you want the better one bad enough you'd have to pay more to get the a1 or a2. i got the a1. she's a beast. get the cheaper best buy version if your budget is lower and don't need to have the huge hard drive and blu ray. besides those and the resolution, they're just as powerful.
@anepales you're also forgetting the warranty and 8 GB RAM, which you don't get with the Best Buy version. Pretty much for about 250-300 more than the Best Buy, you get the 1TB, 8GB RAM, 1080p, and the 1-year accidental, 2-year global warranty. Then for like 300-350 more you get all that plus Blu-Ray.
@chris3d165 i think the difference is the a2 has two hard drives as opposed to the one in the x3. also the a2 comes with the targus backpack and gaming mouse. the a1 has all that as well but has bluray
Bought it Saturday. I switched off the backlight while experimenting with the keys. Now I can't get the backlight back on. The button he showed in the video doesn't have any effect.

This laptop (I'm planning on getting the g73jh-a1) is great..... and in terms of price the m17x will run you about 1000$ more for the same specs.....
battery life... you can get 2-3 hours of life if you underclock the gpu.... (be very careful you will crash your system if you don't know what you doing)

@dgrichmond try some of the FN (blue) + F buttons (f1, f2...) that's how you reduce the intensity of the light...Well that's how it works on my Asus.
