  • @DrKorn5 yea I wish there was more running during the fight when my commander gave us the ok to retreat I high tailed it out of there I only stopped because I noticed nobody was next to me hahaha

  • Give them hell 69 ny haha I was part of that charge those Rebs didn't know what to do lol

  • @142civilwar looks like some are actually routing then. One thing I wished is that their was more running and less orderly withdrawls

  • Faugh a ballagh! :000-0:07. The 69th N.Y. are the lads for routing the Tarheels!

  • what was the heat like?

  • @hollywoodwerewolf It was pretty hot. Temperatures hovered around 100 degrees, and the heat index made it feel like 115 degrees. There was a slight breeze at times, though. Re-enactors told us that they beat the heat by drinking lots of water. One said that their wool uniforms act as a cooling device when they get wet from sweat, due to it evaporating.

  • @insidenova The story we used to tell to spectators was:The wool allows the breeze to meet the skin as it is a breathable fabric. The hotter it gets, the more you sweat, the more the wind blows, the cooler you get.If it gets up to 125 degrees, reenactors would freeze to death!!!
