It's a new game+ ending. Not entirely sure, but may have to beat the final boss as early as possible (Serge alone.) I've gotten this ending before, I just don't remember how exactly <.<;

Actually, beating the final boss that early will get you the programmer's ending. To get this ending, I'm pretty sure that you have to beat the final boss sometime after getting through viper manor, and possibly choosing not to save Kid. But that is mostly a guess from what little I remember of the game and the part of the ending that has Norris and Kid.

Chrono is not Serge's father. They have entirely different hair, and Chrono might even be dead, since Guardia was taken over by Porre if you pay attention to the ending of PS Chrono Trigger and the backstory of Chrono Cross. In fact, I'm relatively sure the director even said it wasn't his father in an interview.

Crono technically died, but if you pay really close attention to everything and every little hint in the game, his spirit is supposed to be around the Magic Tree (as retarded as that one came out) on Death Peak. Then, again, that's only if you do everything bad in the game (get guilty on the trial in the beginning, etc)

The problem I found with these endings was that they weren't accurate, except for maybe one was at least semi-accurate. I would've made them more like what would happen if the story ended there. I also would've had, at the way end after fighting the Time Devourer at Terra Tower, have it where you die from the boss battle and see what would've happened if you'd lost and Schala stayed in the TD. That would've been interesting. Still LOVE the game, though.
