@dan110024 also if a p&s is wat you need id recommend the sony nex-3 its got an aps-c sensor just like a dslr but small just like a p&s it absolutely shits on the s95 and ofcourse anyother p&s plus its cheaper than s100 at 379.95 with 18-55mm lense at amazon

Meh, there are loads of problems and complaints with the S100, mainly that the image quality is worse than the S95. Don't buy it, get a S95 or wait for the S105.

@theycalledmechris Doesn't appear that infosyncworld's done anything w/ straight traditional cameras in at least 6 months or more. Smartphones w/ cameras in them appeared to continue to be reviewed for awhile after that, but as I've never had interest in trying to find a serious photographic instrument in a phone, I never followed those reviews.

Before anyone even thinks about dropping well over 400 BUCKS (U.S.) for this camera, one would be well served to go to other well-respected review sites for differing p's.o.v. such as CNET reviews and DPreview dot com (which btw is holding back on publishing it's full review of the production version of the S100 because it's already tested 3 sample S100's, and all 3 have what appears to be "lens decentering" issues.

@FrancCastle The XZ-1 has a brighter lens but the S100 is much smaller, has a movie mode that actually works, and handles higher ISOs better. The CMOS sensor and GPS is nice, too.

If you're only going to be taking photos, and you don't mind carrying around a case, I'd go with the XZ-1 (or even the Panasonic LX5 if you don't mind the interface) but otherwise the Canon S100 is the best choice.

@FrancCastle I'd go for the S100. The XZ-1 had problems with its autofocus in video mode, and its video mode in general is pretty poor. For image still image quality alone, the XZ-1 is a great camera, but the S100 is a better overall choice, despite the fact that the XZ-1's lens is a stop brighter.

@alfonsogemini I had an NEX5 for 5 months very capable camera especially in low light.Checkout some of my HD samples in my channel.Although not as packable as the poweshot in this review imho a much better camera suited both for beginners and professionals as long as you dont mind carrying a small bag for it (will fit in your pocket with the pancake but not with the standard zoom lens)

@08robertb From a photographer's perspective, get a good digital camera. There are things about a dedicated camera body with external controls and extensive camera settings that make shooting with a cell phone a laborious endeavor.
