Great song dear Scott, I'm from Ecuador South America and a great follower of your music, I'm very interested on getting the New Fire Album, hopefully we can find it around here sometime soon. Congrats!!!
Wow, that is so similar to the Shakuhachi and so different from Plains style. The Yaqui use a two hole bamboo flute for their Deer songs. So many completely different flute styles all from a fairly small geographic area.
just beautiful music from such a big flute , pictures are stunning though i never tire of seeing NA country just as it was in the old days.. your flute playing is very smooth and wonderfull on the ears
i would love to visit this part of the earth one day. your music seems to me to have sprung right out of the canyons. thank you for sharing with us. :-)))
Interesting to think that the ancient ones (Anasazi) of NM,CO, UT & AZ traded jade for redwood & seashells from California. Thx 4 sharing your music & link to historical cultural trade .
These are songs only our souls know and have been longing to hear. These are songs that have no earthbound words. These are songs left to us from the ancients. Thank you, Scott.
Scott -- this is great! You are an amazing talent. I love the way you can connect your emotions with the music in a way that causes me to feel what you feel. So peaceful and introspective. Thank you for sharing your music with us!
Scott, your beautiful music with your southwest images take me back to the places I love. Maybe your videos should be longer so I can stay there... :)
If you've never had a chance to see Scott perform in person, keep an eye on his website for future performances (mostly in the Southwest but occasionally in other areas). Since I live in LA I've been lucky to see him several times, and it's always special. He often comes up with wonderful improvisations like this on the spot.
Best I've heard you play the anasazi, Scott! Also, really nice song you wrote there....one of your better ones for the Anasazi flute. In looking at your photos, no doubt one of the serendipities of having to log in so many miles. The southwest is indeed enchanting.
You make it look easy but its not. I have one of Geoff Ellis' Anasazi flutes (still shown on his website) and its a challenge to say the least. Longer arms would help...LOL!. I've ordered your book...:)
Scott, once again you've composed a very nice sound with your flutes. I like the Anasazi flutes the best with their rich tones it brings back the times when they were here. I listen to your CDs when I'm in the four corner area.
In your life you must see Scott August play in concert. He's a truly amazing musician.
