Going back to Clinton/Carter, the Dems wanted everyone to own a home, whether they could afford it or not, so they encouraged Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac to buy up sub-prime mortgages at a highly increased rate. When those people predictably defaulted, the economy started to Collapse. OHH and also, that economist will tell you that FDR's policies PROLONGED the depression.

What do YOU know? Bush Sr and Bush Jr did NOT stay true to true conservative principals, which is what allowed Obama to win. Republicans lost because they acted like democrats. As for Reagan? How? NOT to say that Republicans have been more fiscally responsible the last decade or so, but Liberals have a reputation of being MORE fiscally irresponsible. It comes with the territory of their central beliefs. Entitlements. They believe everything is an entitlement, which translates into more spending. When you spend more, you have to tax more. Tax and spend. THAT is where they get their reputations.

Proof? Recently, look at Obama. He's spent more than ALL OTHER Presidents in our history in just 75 days. He believes healthcare, college education, owning your own home is an entitlement. Why do you think he wants universal healthcare, to bail out those who got houses they couldn't pay for, and to increase spending on college education? Look to history and "Hillary Care" during the Clinton Admin to see the entitlement programs. How about FDR and the new deal? History is your proof.

FDR and the new deal saved our butts from those who willingly took from those who couldn't help themselves, and they said they were entitled to this. So what Joe what do you know? If the past admin. didn't over turn the new deal we would not be in the mess and crisis we are in now. That is not entitlement in which you call it that is called renewing a law that should've never been taken away.

Umm. Actually ask an economist why we're in this mess. THE LYNCH PIN to this crisis has been the housing market. Why? Going back to Clinton/Carter, the Dems wanted everyone to own a home, whether they could afford it or not, so they encouraged Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac to buy up sub-prime mortgages at a highly increased rate. When those people predictably defaulted, the economy started to Collapse. OHH and also, that economist will tell you that FDR's policies PROLONGED the depression.

What do YOU know? Bush Sr and Bush Jr did NOT stay true to true conservative principals, which is what allowed Obama to win. Republicans lost because they acted like democrats. As for Reagan? The one thing he binge-spent on was defense. That was during the cold war and THAT spending is justified in the name of defense. But government should only spend within its means, which THIS administration is definently going WAY beyond.

Seems like to me you are forgetting they are politicians. No one should ever put too much in just one subject or person its unhealthy. Politicians are people and most of them do what is best for themselves and there own interests not the people. While Reagan spent to end the cold war it created Osama Bin Laden, the Taliban, destabilized the middle east and western Europe. His spending made the USA a debtor nation and now we are just starting to invest in America again after almost 30 years.
