@playmobil911 had a good car in 1987, but still did nothing with it and Patrese was decent enough. In 92, Mansell did what any top driver does, maximize when you have a true advantage, like Button in the early part of 2009. By the time the performance gap closes, it's too late.
Look the difference between Williams' camera car image and McLaren's one: Williams image is very firm, almost without vibrations at all. McLaren's image is very vibrational.
Thanks active suspension, right Sir Williams ;-) ? Great technical F1 era!!!
@Sembee83 it was also caused my McLaren using a large piece of cowling over the monocoque which of course is more loose than the Williams way of simply letting the monocoque also be the outer bodywork at once...hard to explain but you'll see :)
Absolutely love this video as I can enjoy the beautiful sound both of low and high revs, I don't actually watch it but use it as background music heh!
After all the years.....the sound of a pure breed at full song....the yellow helmet flashing by in the sun.....and taking your life and offering it to brother death to
face the dark wall of fear.....it makes the little hairs on back of my neck to stand up.
@F1archivesDotCom McLaren forced the debut of its MP4/7 with semiautomatic gearbox in Interlagos.. I remember that it went so bad that both Senna and Berger had to qualify using the MP4/6 that had manual gearbox.. in the race they used the MP4/7 but no much later both of them retired because of mechanical problems.. IMHO the MP4/7 was the less competetive McLaren that Senna drove..

If they gave it to Williams or Ukyo Katayama Satoru Nakajima also they would be champions!

@wwx1 Senna and Berger also had the semi-automatic, paddle-shift gearbox by Interlagos, which was the 3rd race on the 1992 calendar.

@buzzzatho looks like it was up a jack at the rear.
nunchuckerz 6 months ago
@nunchuckerz nope, at that time on the grid jacks are not used on the cars. Active suspension makes things lot easyier.
