@ViperKirby What you can still do is the Safari Zone no clipping glitch, and then use that to talk to the Old Man and then walk on the Cinnibar coast instead of surfing which will let you do the glitch as usual, which takes longer but doesn't require using a Trainer (Flying doesn't disable no-clip), though the effort to time 500 steps might not be worth it, and the Ditto trick (which conveniently works on Spanish version too) for finding Missingno./any non-glitch Pokémon better in that respect.
In case you are wondering, I used the Ditto glitch to find that one particular MissingNo. I found a wild Ditto, and had it transform into a Raticate of mine with a Special of 32.
@0000FFScreenOfDeath A lot of glitch Pokémon appear different between other language games, even if they have the same identifier, as the game doesn't always point to the same place to get the sprite.
The sprite partially depends on the Pokédex number. AFAIK all 'normal' Missingno. look like that on ES R/B, except the fossil and ghost ones, like how all 'normal' Missingno look alike on our RB. One of the other things is how the sprite is decompressed, but I don't understand how it works.
@ChickasaurusGL It's like, although the fossil and ghost Missingno. are also dex:000, they don't look like the "standard" Missingno. If use Gameshark to modify the species directly, normal Pokémon often appear garbled when they appear for some reason.
Also, there is something within the base stats structure see Bulbapedia:Pokémon base stats data structure#Sprites, which probably partially explains why hex:248, a hybrid of Articuno on Yellow is blue but looks more like a weird Bulbasaur statue.
I have no idea what type it is in the Spanish version, because when I tried to catch it, it turned into a Rhydon; therefore it became Rock/Ground instead. I wish that I knew how to catch it without it turning into a Rhydon... if I do find out its real type, I will add it somewhere in that article.
OK, for the time being, I will reply to you in English...
Anyway, I do know about that glitch, but if you battle trainers other than the one with the Slowpoke, different Pokémon (besides Mew) appear. For example, a Gambler (Jugador in Spanish) in Route 11 who has a Growlithe and a Vulpix will yield a MissingNo. instead of a Mew, and there are other trainers like that, too. Just read the MissingNo. article on Pokéteca (a Spanish wiki like Bulbapedia), it explains it better.
@PTMarc33 I don't know either, though some of the different language games changed the game engine around a little. e.g. at least in this version you can't use Surf to encounter the glitch Pokémon directly on the coast itself anymore.
Actually, cross region trading only has problems between Japanese and non-Japanese versions. I've traded between English and Spanish versions without any problems whatsoever.
@NeptunII Yeah there's lots of videos on that. Basically you start one step left of the guard, and then hold start while walking right. The menu will pop up late (when you're one step north of the guard and water is to your right) then if you save when the menu opens and reset, it will change Surf's neutral position to down. Then if you Surf, you will go down and right through the guard.
You can also do the same method to get next to Bill's House and go back to Agatha from Lance.
2:49 epic music?!

Well, it makes up for the coast tile glitch. Though not as convenient as you can't use it anytime.

Mi español es malo, lo siento.

So it IS possible to find 'M without GameShark codes in the Spanish version after all...
And weird. Why does it only work in the Spanish version? What happens if you try it in the English version?
Blaziken257 7 months ago
That's strange. But WHY does it only work in the spanish version of the game. That makes no sense.

@ChickasaurusGL Probably slightly for language purposes.
Just like how cross region trading causes cool stuff in Gen I.

isn't there a similiar glitch, where you are able to surf in Vermillion over the sailor back into the SS. Anne?
