@hate1990me I believe he means the hot shot ground crews that work for the forest fire service and travel by foot to help contain/extinguish forest fires.
you guys shoulod take a look at european gallet helmets full head protection retracteble heat/eye shields. fits like a glove over yur head :D just to awesome:D:D:D American helmets have the symbolic old look but european are just 100% protection and if you see the french 1 their just gorgoeus :D
Actually my dept just bought all new karn's 1020's and they have what you just described above i love how the eye and water shield fold right up into the helmet very handy to have!!!
true but the fun part is in the US its the defender visor by MSA/cairns and in europe that has been used since the early 80's in the gallet helmet so i laughed my ass off when i saw the cairns website saying: ALL NEW dfefender retractable visor ^^. but im not denying that american helmets are great 2 before people start hating me =P i love the look for them and the history but you could get hit in the neck so bad with that and the european helmets prevent that ;)
lol Yeah i understand im not hating on you either im agreeing with you but yeah the style of the helmet had not changed in years but the new cairns 1020's i have to agree with you are sooooo much better then that annoying water shield. anyhow greeting's from Ohio (*waves*)
hmm i cant seem to find it either all i see are 1010's i just know we had a guy from cairns at the station with a 1010 and a 1020 unless the 1020 is like something brand new and dont have it on the market yet *shrugs*
@addicted2firefightin Awsome i love the eye shields it's so much better then the big bulky one that eventually becomes wore out and wont stay up half the time lol
@99GPSE Plus they stay clean and dont get smoked up like the old ones did when you had them up on your helmet so when you pulled it down you couldnt see throug it
Most of us don't strap our helmets unless making entry, and some up in new york etc still wont strip when entering(its a rule here to strap it during entry).
Also if your wearing it for a long time, you losing it. It can then fall off some time.
I never strap mine until making entry. Over all lose and none strapped is most comfortable with some helmets due to wight after hours with it on(to tight gives you a headache). are dose me any way. I don't have a problem with mine falling off though.
I know how ya are man lol..i never strap mine except some interior opps..i am a truckie,so i like mine a lil loose, but i usually leave my strap off nd rarely lose my helmet..just got hit with falling ceiling the other day lol,nd it stayed on
but to second that..its not american helmets, its just the lack of us actually using chinstraps
Yeah, Oslo Fire Department (Norway) have good helmets too. Even unstrapped LOL.They dont fall off as quickly as americans. I actually see it too often here at YouTube :)
weil sie so heldenhaft sind und ohne pa ungesichert auf einem dach im rauch sitzen oder ihre autos so riesig und kompl. überdimensioniert sind und nicht mehr könne wie unsere.......
Are you talking about the two guys withing the first minute and one is bent over? If so, it looks like they are just changing out each others bottles.

sort of.. there retained which means they only get paid when on a call out... have a look at bray fireman brian murray on you tube and it will sort of explain it a bit better.. leave comments thanks
irish retained firefighters have it bad lack of men response times bad due to traffic but bravest men you will ever see...... checkout bray fireman brian murray on you tube its about two irish firefighters who died due to lack of back up and manpower
yeah no offence taken we have 2 types of fire fighters there is volunteer and paid.. paid fire fighters is compulsary and volunteer you have the option.. however the paid guys are always there working with us.. so no matter what we have breathing appuratus...
when i done my Basic FireFighter course they couldnt drill it into out heads enough that no matter what the situation you should always wear your PPE even if your not on call you should always have it in your jacket pockets ALWAYS..
i used to thought when i was little that firefighters are people who wear BOXING GLOVES and jump into a burning houses and box the flames. im serious.
rite now im olny 13 but i know that when i get out of hs im am going straight in to a firefighting /emms acamedy so i can feel what it is like to save people every day
my dads a firefighter and its such an awesome job and its hella scary cause you never know if hes gonna come home the next day so its really sad when i dont get to say goodbye in the morning because he leaves at like 5:00 am
I could never be a firefighter....but i greatly appreciate all the ones that are because they really put their lives on the line everyday to save lives......
Im not a fire fighter, im just a soilder who wandted to be one, but i do know about protective gear and ill tell you one thing, if I didnt wear my IBAS im pretty sure i wouldnt be agreeing with jermyNkathy40, just cuz its heavy, dosnt mean it's a bad idea. Cant say how many times I was glad i had my IBAS on. By the way, thanx to all the firefighters out there doing your guys job. We appreciate it. I was 15 when i saw every thing and I thank you all for what you did. God Bless you all.
hey he is right we have all that gear to keep us from burning up so use the the gear it really saves your ass i am a firefighter that is the first thing i do on the way to the call is put my gear on and make sure it is on right
ok jeremyNkathy40 RELAX for fuck sakes. Everyone just sayed there mind, you dont need to go sub comment everyone that said there mind. We dont ever use a garden hose because we need more pressure than that, and plus you probably wouldnt be able to handle a fire hose at 950 kPa so shut your trap and knock it off

true but most are just variations on it , comes to the same purpose ( sicor vf2 cromwell f600 ) all same full enclosure helmets.
