I love this. We have this festival called Art Beat in my hometown every year. Four years ago, this Ramones tribute band called The Ramoniacs played right out in the middle of the street, and I stood and watched the entire show. So much fun! As they were playing, a guy walked by with his wife and asked, "Is that really The Ramones?" I just shook my head. I just didn't have the heart to tell him that 3 out of 4 of them had passed away! I Wish I could have seen the REAL Ramones!

At some point some of those developed strong nationalistic feelings and became fond of nazism (boooo). Then the original skinheads that formed punk bands started bashing the nazi-skins in their songs. Two reasons for that; It's the humanistic thing to do and they were really spoiling their style i guess...

i hate to break it to everyone, but the ramones didnt write "california sun." not sure who did, but its most "famous" version was released in the mid 1960's by the riverias (i think it was their only hit). its more or less a staple on many oldies stations (at least my local ones)

umm u guys Dee Dee and FLEA are pretty much equal. they both write, or wrote songs in the simplest form they could think of. yes Flea knows more styles, but he also had a teacher who play, and played the trumpet, so he had a leg up on musical training. Dee Dee had no teacher, and had no real other talent, he had to learn while him and his mother traviled around on the move all the time to get away from his father, just throughing that out there
