You can compare Cradle of Filth to any REAL Black Metal band like Darkthrone, Mayhem, or even Dimmu Borgir (who are pretty much sell outs too, well, their new material) and you will discover that Cradle of Filth is just the little gay brother of Black metal.

I accept Moonspell and Theathre des Vampires is decent, but none of them deserve being called Black metal, they are GOTHIC METAL. Period. Now, ask at least 3 people (no friends if you have any, no family, and no COF fans whatsoever) if COF is better than Gorgoroth. Tell me what they said.

@XHerrEinsamkeitX This conversation is pointless, you will never understand the fact that COF creates good music and is more successful (2nd brit after maiden) than all these black metal bands combine. oh, gothic metal is bands like tristania, theatre of tragedy, paradise lost. Gothic black metal is COF, Moonspell and TDV like i said. btw all metal is metal to me, i don't go by sub genres but you left me no choice. and oh.. lol gorgoroth is just noise, Immortal and Burzum are real BM i like.

@filth69ify1 Burzum and Immortal are excellent. Gorgoroth is great too, just give it a better listen. Being successful doesn't makes a band "good". Now, you said this is emo, do you know what the emo ideology is? It's "I whine because my parents won't buy me a new game console". This is true depression. I never meant an offense, I just stated my opinion towards COF, as you felt like giving yours on DSBM. Now, compare Austere's lyrics to any "emo" band lyrics and tell me... are they the same?
