  • It is Cleveland.

  • What area of texas are you in?

  • Red? I bet it feels funny in the early morning daylight.

  • The openings below the pole sleeves are to allow air flow when the rain fly is attached. Some manufacturers utilize mesh in this area for the same purpose.

  • Well, it's red!

  • how much did you get it for ?? please reply

  • So after a couple of tries, do you still like the No Limit Sunlight Peak tent?

  • I guess the job opportunities for the voice actor of Cleveland from Family Guy were limited.

  • Five pounds is very heavy for backpacking. So I leave the rainfly at home when I don't expect any precipitation for a weekend backpacking trip. (e.g., Texas summer). It's nice to see the bright stars on the other side of that huge mosquito netting rather than a rainfly anyways. I haven't been caught by rain yet, and if/when I do, then I guess I'll just get wet.

  • five lbs is heavier than my 2 man and its a big 2 man

  • Kevin have you thought of tieing it, to a hammock ?

Here in Florida the ground is wet 24/7 even in a drought condictions

  • wuts a tayent?

  • @downeysoftness

it's like a tent only better cause it has 2 extra letters lol kidding, i live in texas and yeah our accents are funny :P but i do have the 2 man version of this tent(Kings Peak) i like it cause it packs down small and is actually a little lighter than this one and has more vertical space. It's great for motorcycle trips as it doesn't take too much room. For the price i think these tents are a very good deal

  • a good tent for camping in games indeed!

  • Would you pick this Tent over the Eureka ?

  • Texas! FTW!!! yes it is hot and nice grass... mine looks that same =p ty for the review... and the stake thing, its for like high wind... kinda a last minute thing you do before you go to sleep (thats what i think)... once again thank you!

  • used this tent last night in LadoniaTX. Very confined quarters. No room for my pack. Kelty 5000ci. 55 deg w/ high winds. It held up well, but is too close for comfort with gear. With its big brother only weighing 2/10ths more in weight, I'll opt for its 2 man version. Overall a successful trip, but the No limits Sunlight peak left something to be desired.

  • the tab near the door, you can stake it down when you've gone for a forrage... But I would never use it, cos it shows that no one is home!...(redneck robbery couls arise!) lol!

  • IT looks pretty sturdy...the only thing the worries me ... is ...is it Bear proof?lol! (I;m lookin at Canada cycle touring!...I;m English,,(no bear attack trained!)

  • @kernowrock555 Down here in the Southern States, we fight bears all the time. The main thing to remember is that you can scare, or even strike an East Coast Black or brown bear(I always go for the nose), and hopefully survive. They usually avoid humans. On the other side of the continent there are Grizzly Bears, and if they can see you, they can probably catch and kill you if they feel like it. I think you are supposed to play dead when attacked by a Grizzly.

  • @ledforddesign , so what happens if "I go for the nose" and it "doesn't" work.?..do I say "STOP Mr.Bear!!!, for I will taste too rich for your palate, for I am English!...Now lets go for a beer and discuss some simple american human pie recipes........lol! The biggest predator we have in U.K. is a BADGER!!! haha! What about bear-spray? do they work? cheers..

  • @kernowrock555 My English Friend, Don't say "Stop Mr Bear" instead try this; "Whaddryew lookin at Motherf****r!!??" It helps to raise your voice when you say this, and to assume an aggressive posture. This should scare the crap out of the bear/s and they will run for higher ground.

  • @ledforddesign thanx! ... Bears aside.... I think the tent looks cool!

  • @kernowrock555 Bears are usually more interested in your food, than they are in you. When you go to sleep at night, hang your food up in a tree where a bear can't get to it. Mountain lions have been known to attack bike riders. You could probably fight one off with a good stout knife. Just pray you don't get attack by a Grizzly. If you are attack by a Grizzly, just lie back and think of England!

  • @scruffymeigs So.... If you're in your tent, your foods hung up a tree 30 yrds away...will a bear or Mountain Lion want to investigate whats in the tent? I know they can smell us miles away!, also does camoflaging the tent help? thanx...

  • @kernowrock555 Camoflauging won't help. Any animal will still probably be more interested in the food that you have hanging, than in you. Just keep the food out of your tent. You are more likely to die from a bicycle accident than from any wild animal attack. I've camped in areas where there were many signs of black bear activity, and have never been bothered.

  • Marshall, the REI Quarterdome T1, 2 lb 13 oz. Very well made.

  • how much dinero ??

  • Rain fly strap: This is so you can make a small porch type overhang while you are in your tent and it is raining.

  • I think the string on the stake is for pulling the stake out of the ground, when you use your heel to push the stake in to the ground so it won't spin and come unhooked it hard to get the stake out.

  • i think the extra spot for a steak is if u wana leave the zipper open.

  • how much is it Kev?

  • am liking the look of this

  • does anyone now what the best one man hiking/survival/camping tent out there is... looking for something light small when packed down and made well, price is not an issue THANK YOU

  • If you don't want to be soaked, check out one man bivys like from Mountain hardware, Marmot, Sierra Designs, North Face, Kelty, etc. You really do get what ya pay for.

  • Wow that cheap piece of cloth is gonna leak like a sombitch!!

  • I'd like to know how well it will hold up in the rain. I'm tired of getting wet in tents like that made in chiana

  • Just bring a big enough tarp to throw over the tent. and/ or a bigger one to cover the whole camp site(bring rope). If you can do that, any decent tent will do. Tarps are lite and easy 2 pack.

  • that red shows up real bad in the woods op for green if possible

  • @rlmccullough in reality, "going stealth" is not a viable option. You know how many people you have to run from, keep track of, you're by yourself. Unless you're a trained operative that can mentally handle such a situation, but I doubt it.

  • Nice review Kev. I hope that you take it out during some adverse conditions and put it through its paces. I think that a multi-day hike with some high wind, rain, and tough ground will expose some weaknesses. When you buy a $45 tent, you usually get what you pay for. I agree with you 5 pounds is kinda heavy for a one man tent.

  • cool, does it come in camouflage? im partial to both woodland and 3 color desert

  • thanks for the review

  • im pretty sure that tent stake loop is so u can tie the rainfly up and have it still stop the rain

  • Exactly, up and out to provide something like an awning to provide open(window) and extra air flow while maintaining rainshed.

  • Response relating to "Coltnmorrow0112".

  • well said.

  • Great review, but you sound like the dude in Three Kings...great movie by the way.

  • would it be practical to cover it in a type of debris shelter for concealment in mild weather

  • Wow, that was an excellent review. 5*

  • Thats a ridiculously heavy tent! I have a three man tent that I could carry for that weight.

  • Cool.

  • "about 14" long, and 6" wide" ... now where have i seen that before?? hahaha

  • You leave the last stake loose enough that you can slip the loop over it after you are inside the tent, and it is zipped closed.

  • If you brought or cut a short pole, you could use that extra stake loop to prop up that door flap as an awning. Probably not what it was designed for, but it looks like it would work.

  • texas + snakes = hammocks!!

  • That's nice!

  • Tent cost is about $45 - just google the name of the tent. Seems pretty haevy for a one man tent.

  • Nice review. I might suggest that you invest in a tripod. Will free your hands for things like set up.

  • I like the tent it seems nice to keep the rain off of you . You were out and spotted evidence of wild hogs is there a problem with those animals attacking humans?

The stake might be for those that take a tent to high wind areas and they may need to place the stake to keep wind our perhaps it is where it is so a buddy can seal you in and you are buttoned up or you have to stake it when you are on the inside.

  • Kevin-Not to pry brother but how big are you? I liked the fact that you got in the tent and showed the room inside but if I had a reference of your size I could compare to myself. I am not a small dude :-). Also, does it come in other colors?

  • @adams0960 I would guess he's 5'10".

  • The extra strap IS used for a stake. it has two straps and only one gets the stake (just like a lot of military tents). this allows you to stake it open with one side, and the other is zipped to form a little spot to store your shoes or boots and they don't get rained on. it's actually a pretty common feature on good tents.

  • That seems kind of heavy for a 1 person tent. My 2 person tent weights the same or just under that one.

  • Cost on it?

  • maybe that extra strap @ 6:25 is for stepping on, for quick and painless zipping.. I personally hate zippers :)

  • Excellent video as always. Thanks for sharing!

    5 stars

  • thats a nice looking tent you have there. myself i just go with a tarp with a hammock with some bugnet

  • Mountain camping in the summer and you freeze you ass off with all of that netting! I know I camped on summer in a tent like that.

  • I like it! ★★★★★

  • Little tent -v- Hammock, would make a fun review.

  • interested to see how much, great vid and the quality appears to be acceptable.let us know how it goes.

  • how much wus it

  • decent size for something so compact

  • great review. I find those 1 man tents a little tight for myself but this one does have some nice features for someone that can use them.

  • Does it come in any other colors by chance?

  • Very nice summer tent.

  • What did this tent cost you? Is it American made or Chinese? Would it fit 2 adults like a man and wife?

  • @jkejr on on top of the other...LOL

  • Is anything made in America anymore?

  • @MobaTalk lot of stuff but you pay more for the same quality so companies choose to "out source"

  • Yeah, that's why I'm thinking of not recycling anything anymore - seems that we just ship it over to China, they make more stuff and ship it back for sale at Walmart.

  • @MobaTalk then you put it in the garbage and make the USA trashy pick one.

  • I pick the 3rd option - I buy less stuff and bag my own groceries. Being a consumer is not an excuse. ;^)

  • why isent it an excuse? everyone is a consumer including you. Every person in the usa are to be slaves for their own cooperation they be slaved for :)

  • Recycling is a scam...we do all the work to make the world green, then we pay taxes for the township to deal with the newly recycled plastics and metals. So we do the work and pay for the workers do what?? Then it gets transformed by a pollution factory into something cheap that china paints with lead based paint so your kids can chew on it. great plan. America doesn't want us smart..lets kill the brain cells while they develop.

  • No, everything u see, smell, pickdup, are made in china or other asian cooperation who are in direct contact with wherever there contacts are from. Why pay much for something much cheaper with same quality? The dollar is just a fake piece of paper, made up by your feds and conroller freaks gov etc :P

Asia is the master of the universe, obey and thou shall be happy :-)

  • Asia wouldn't rule so much if spoiled rich white man weren't so worried about their green backs rolling in at the cost of sweatshops, and american jobs. Anything made in america is shit because we sold all our crappy material to the countries that now use it to make everything they sell to america. So that $75 pair of gap jeans cost about a buck to make and well more than half of that goes into corprate pockets after all the small expenses. Time square an american- icon isn't even american

  • Good but those kinds of tents are so crowded. It is a real pain to change clothes inside there. For a small person, a kid's swimming pool type air mattress works great with those kind of tents. They don't weigh much, don't take much room, are easy to blow up and only cost a couple of bucks. A good bargain for the added comfort.

  • nice little tent

  • Stake it when/after you get in the tent for higher wind times

  • not a bad tent!

  • I'm not a big fan of one man tents, better to get a two man.

  • @dlmarti I have both, Just depends on use. For a bug out, this would be great to keep stored with your BOB. I always like to use a tent one person more than what will be using the tent, ie 3 man for two people, for gear storage and extra room.

  • @dlmarti Or a 3 man tent

  • cool tent kev

  • good looking tent.! Directions? Who needs directions!

  • Why snakes often penetrate tents?

Is there a hammock tent and is it practical?

  • @SatansAgenda snakes like to get under any fabric you put on the floor.

i used a 'hennessy hammock' explorer deluxe model, which can also be pitched as a ground tent if you need to.

  • Ok, makes sense thanks im going to google that last thing I want is to be bit by a snake. How can you protect yourself from Wolves and Forest Predators? Does lighting a camp fire keep animals away?

  • @SatansAgenda a gun would be better
