A true white screen of death is caused by the LCD screen being disconnected. simply resetting will not work in all cases.

i dropped my itouch and it has a white screen ive held the home button and the sleep lock button together it went black then nothing happened it just went white again the screen isnt cracked and i plugged it into my laptop and itunes didnt recognize it with the white screen so i restored it and nothbing happened but my itunes reconizes it now can some1 help?

umm i do the reset and then it just goes back to the white screen no apple logo nothin and everything still works like i can unlock it lock it and all that but i cant see what im doin and itunes does connect to it please help

@Awesomecause44 ok.. if anyone actually learned something from our video they are retarded.. you dont even have the white screen of death your phone is frozen. so learn about the phone issue before you post it. you have a software issue. the white screen of death is a hardware issue.

@reecemakespeace Then try another thing try putting it in dmu mode and recovering it and if that doesnt work then take it to a apple mac care center

@reecemakespeace Press both the buttons for 10 secounds and then let go off the power button and hold the home button for another 5 seconds make sure u connect it to itunes first and then try this itunes will automatically detect ur phone in dmu mode and then it will ask to restore and update and thats how u fix it last resort if this doesnt work i am sorry i cant help u there
