I was a huge fan of Michael Hedges & was greatly saddened at his passing. He was a genius & truly a wonderful man each time I was blessed to see him. I'm glad to see someone following the brilliant path he lead
I love Preston but sometimes the guitar tones grates on me. not all the time mind you but sometimes.maybe it's choice of guitar, or pickups, or Aer amp or all cos his fingers are magic.Michael Hedges tones is the bomb.
Yeah I know what you mean, he seems to use mainly piezo pickups and some kind of contact pickup to pick up the more percussive sounds. I preferred the sound of his Washburn used in his instructional dvd.
Agree. he's a cool guy though. I had lunch in Sligo, Ireland with him a few months back. And his partner is great craic. she actually remembered my video of Blasting Cap which was sweet.
is he playing a cole clark ?

Agreed, but at the same time sometimes Michael's voice isn't all it could be. If only they combined.....

So bloody right. I'm trying to combine that style of guitar with Jeff Buckley. Now there's a combo I'll never achieve.
