@jpzhouutube Could be your card, could be the battery, not sure. Try using a higher performance SD card (one that can specifically handle HD video write speeds) and make sure the battery's fully charged.
@CameronCampbellFilms My cards had enough size left. It was not size issue. I think raoulpop is right, it is SD card performance issue. Regular card may have a problem at high speed... I tried my other "Ultra 200MB/sec" card, it seems work fine. Well, I found sound quality of HD is far worse than that of SD mode though. I think Olympus E-P2 made a big mistake on this regard. I basically cannot use the HD model at all becaue of poor sound quality: /watch?v=k73Z97dOSzQ
@krejerki Neither. I was shooting in macro mode, and a strong breeze started to blow. I kept the camera steady but I couldn't help the flower, which was tiny and subject to every whim of the wind.
if you want to shoot video, look at the nikon d5000. it's just a little bit more money but it shoots 720p at 24 frames per second, has a better colors and uses a whole different grade of lenses. i have the nikon d90 and i love it.
It's overcast light in the beginning...and later too...doesn't help with color....but minimal gutters on edges....perhaps the image would look less flat if there is a way to open the lens even more...this ain't no contax 2 1/4 120mm macro...
@raoulpop Thanks for the reply >.<! the cam looks awesome but the video limitation is a bit of a let down =\ is it due to their software or due to the memory space?
Sorry for asking so much questions but I can't seem to find much information about this area online.
@elpheal It's a general (not camera-specific) limitation on file size, due to various factors such as FAT32 file system, type of movie encoded by camera and buffer size. You'll find it on other video DSLRs as well.
@raoulpop Thanks for the explanation! but i read somewhere that with a 4gb space one can only record 7mins of HD footage. Seems liek a very big space overkill @@
@raoulpop that's not the main reason. they could easily remove the limitation softwarewise but the real reason is the eu taxes. if a camera can record >30 minutes of video it is declared as a camcorder by the authorities and the manufactuters would have to pay both taxes for a photo and a video camera. so once again it's just a matter of cost savings...
@guitarocket01 Perhaps that's also a reason. But I also heard the sensors and the circuitry tend to overheat when used continuously. The E-P2 even has a safety shut-off when the chamber temperature reaches a certain limit. The DSLR sensors are much larger than the camcorder sensors, and there's a lot more data to crunch, so I think that's also a valid reason for the limit. The future will surely reveal the real reason(s), so we only need wait a little while.
@raoulpop yeah, that's the deal with large sensors in small bodies but i've been told that tax reason by olympus themselves, so i think it's quite accurate and don't think that the limitation will be removed any time soon. in the end, it's supposed to be mainly a photo camera anyway ;)
however, it's a great cam and your video shows its huge video capabilities. atm i'm even thinking about buying one and selling my old sony camcorder ...
Nice! Was this film with manual focus? As I can't hear any noise that people claim to have while recording in AF mode. .
Do you happen to have/tested the external microphone for the e-p2? Does the sound quality much better than this (as it is already great for the in-camera mic)
@Millnatapol Thanks! It was a mix of AF and MF. I couldn't hear any AF noise. I haven't tested the external microphone. I asked Olympus for one so I could review it, but they didn't send it to me.
@MWoody92 I didn't measure this with a ruler, but I'd say about 2 inches from it. When I filmed the hibiscus flower, the camera was right up against it.
my e-p2 on HD only record about 4 min and stopped.... do you know why and which settings I need to adjust? thanks

@jpzhouutube its a limit set by the file system on the SD card if I'm not mistaken, my canon t3i does the same thing and I have a class 10 32gb card

Is that nice bokeh only achievable in macro mode with the kit lens?
WilliamRayWalters 7 months ago
@WilliamRayWalters All I used was the kit lens and manual focus. Worked beautifully.

The video is a bit choppy around 2.40, is youtube to blame, or is the camera?

Is the sound recorded with the internal mic?
krejerki 1 year ago
@krejerki Yes, it is.

@raoulpop
Thanks,
I'm in de last steps of "research" before buying the thing,
so it's neat to know the sound is that good from the internal mic
(you do hear a lot of wind noise, but hey, it tells there was a lot of wind when you where filming,
so it doesn't really bother me.) :)
And I didn't really hear any camera noises (someone stated that in a review as a downside)

Can you change the focus while on video mode or is it just stuck while shooting?
phattyjoyce 1 year ago
@phattyjoyce There is autofocus while shooting video, but sometimes it's a bit noisy, so I shut if off and used manual focus for this video.

how much HD can you film with 4 gig SD card?
ecbfilms001 1 year ago
wonderful footages *_* how long can the video record?
elpheal 1 year ago
@elpheal I think the limit per video clip is 15 minutes in 720p HD mode, and 25 minutes in 480p SD mode.
