In this song, Gerry Rafferty is actually slagging off Baker Street, and London in general. The clue is in the second verse.
"This city desert makes you feel so cold It's got so many people but it's got no soul And it's taken you so long to find out you were wrong When you thought it held everything"
This is why London never used it as a promotional song.
I think this is most visitor's experience of London.
The local Freemasons likely worked with Jew Steven Speilberg in choosing the location to film "E.T." in order to put the hidden Freemason symbolism into the movie. The Jew's movie "E.T." might even contain a clue about the timing of the nuclear attack that they plan to do on Los Angeles after they loot U.S. Bank investment accounts as part of their Satanic Victory. Victory Boulevard was likely a name chosen by Freemasons to promise their future nuclear attack on Los Angeles
The Communist Jew organization CFR is behind the 9/11 attack and they plan to nuke U.S. Bank and probably the San Fernando Valley for another Satanic Freemason Victory as part of the ongoing Communists' Cold War. They are taking over more than the west, they are enslaving everyone on Earth. Where Sherlock Holmes stands in this video's at 1:23 is where ET was filmed taking flight. Sherlock looks passed Orion street in the San Fernando Valley grid and sees U.S. Bank in the metropolitan area.
ET is the star of the film "E.T." When the star ET flies by the moon the Communist flag of Communist-Jew-controlled Russia is symbolized. Communist Jews took over Russia under the leadership of terrorists. Jew terrorists Lenin and Trotsky helped Jew bankers enslave whites of Russia by following Negro-Jew Karl Marx's book The Communist Manifesto which contains plans to use slave labor and remove citizens' property rights. They removed property rights by mass murdering non-Jew Russian home owners.
The character ET, in the Jew's film represents Yahwey/Yoda and Lucifer. He's an alien, meaning a Communist Jew. He flies into the sky because the sun flies in the sky and the Jew's god is depicted as a Lion in the sky, a sundisk with wings on it and a star, the main star of Earth, Earth's sun. The sun is called Ra in ancient Egypt where Jesus is said to have studied. The Freemason Jew bankers based Yahwey, Jesus and Allah on the solar sun, on Lucifer. Ra extorted money and terrorized citizens.
Don McLean's song "Babylon" and "Bye Bye Miss American Pie" seem to refer to the Communist Cold War and their use of nuclear weapons to loot the USA and rob American citizens' investments (pie). The line from the place where the character ET in the Jew's film "E.T." was filmed when he flew like Jesus to the spot where U.S. Bank sits is a Freemason line, the circle formed around Orion's street is their target zone, filled symbolically with the chain of stores named Target with a bull's eye logo.
The Jew rabbis who wrote the satanically-based Old Testament learned how to make slaves of citizens during their stay in Babylon which was the center of slavery. Babylon was a place of monolithic stone buildings. The idea of the Tower of Babel comes from Babylon. The Tower of Babel was destroyed by the Freemasons who built it, just like the Freemason-Communist Jews who controlled the Twin Towers destroyed the Twin Towers. They destroy what they control so they can steal in a Satanic Victory.
Jew Einstein stayed at John Astor's hotel before he went into Japan to help Communist Freemasons set nuclear explosives on the ground. Despite the claims to the contrary, nukes cannot be set off by being dropped from the air, they must be set off on the ground. Einstein may have helped to choose the locations in Los Angeles where Freemason-Communist would set nukes underground later, in a subway under U.S. Bank perhaps. WTC7 had a subway under where nukes were set. Freemason rabbis started WW2.
U.S.A money is Communist money since Communist Jews tookover the USA's central banking system through mass murder. They sank the Titanic built by banker JP Morgan whose company acquired Chase Bank in Los Angeles. Chase Bank put a Freemason blue, waterline mark on their roofs showing where the ocean will rise to. Morgan's Titanic sank with explosives used in his mining enterprise. Killed on the Titanic was John Astor who opposed the Communist takeover of the USA's central banking.
The 9/11 attack was another Satanic Victory of Freemason-Communists which is a victory in committing mass murder to steal wealth. The Freemason-Communists built the Twin Towers as a symbol of the Jews' biblical monster-god Moloch which is symbolized by an owl at the annual Bohemian Grove satanic brainwashing meetings. Moloch is also symbolized in the shape of U.S. Bank which looks like an owl, the same owl of slavery that is on the Ark of the Covenant. The owl is honored at the Bohemian Grove.
The Testaments were written by Freemasons for the Communist Jew bankers whose goal is stated in Revelations as their goal to enslave everyone in the world by taking control over all of the world's money supply. The Communist Jew bankers pushed for the nuking of Japan so its central banks could be takenover by Freemasons working for Communist Jew bankers. Japanese citizens in Fukushima were nuked again in 2010 because they kept money at home. The nukes caused their money to float out to sea.
Orion's Belt. OB. Obama Barrack. Communist War. Cold War. The Communists use Freemason to help them to enslave the citizens/workers of all western nations. The Communists wars to enslave the west is known as the Cold War. 9/11 was a Cold War attack. The Communists have been using nukes since 1908. They lied and said nukes were first used in WW2. They first tested nukes in Tungusta Russia in 1908 and used them to rob Russians and put whites of Russia into Marxist slave labor camps called Gulags.
The hoax using the name Bob HOLness not only refers to nuke HOLes, but it's a sick reference to the beer company that sits next to Orion street which is where the bakery is on the street in the San Fernando Valley. The center of the valley is where the Anheuser-Busch factory sits. ANheuser refers to an ANagram, a masonic anagram. Nukes might be set under the factory. Horses used in the beer company's commericals represent slaves. They made a commercial showing their horses facing the fallen WTC.
The hoax that Bob HOLNESS (BH) played an instrument in the song "Baker's Street" comes from the fact that if the Communist Jews nuke U.S. Bank in downtown Los Angeles then residents and workers of Beverly Hills (BH) will be injured by the nuclear fallout and contaminated air, just as those near the WTC nuke HOLES are dying from lung disease. You have to save yourself because leaders are standing down. Communist Negro Condolezza Rice told New Yorkers the air was safe to breath when it was toxic.
In Bohemian Grove annual meetings held in Northern California, world leaders gather together. Nazi Jew Henry Kissinger who served Hitler organizes the meeting at which men are encouraged to do homosexual activity, afterwhich they watch a play performed in which the biblical character Satan appears and tells them that he controls the marketplace and they cannot defeat him. Since Communist Jews film their homosexual acts they are blackmailed to stand down after 9/11 and other Communist attacks.
In the Jew's film "E.T." the alien (representing Jews) takes flight on a bicycle (a Communist's ride) near a park where a caterpillar. The caterpiller represents a measurement of distance from the park where ET too flight to the U.S. Bank which Freemasons plan to nuke. In between the park and the bank is "Baker's Street" which is near Orion street in the San Fernando Valley. Freemasons might plan to nuke near Orion street and nuke U.S. Bank. Sherlock Holmes' pipe is shaped like a Jew for Jews.
The song Baker's Street is about nuking Los Angeles to kill citizens. It's a plan written in code in the Testaments. The Ark is a metaphore for Los Angeles. The Ark of the Covenant represents a Satanic Victory (stealing through mass murder). The Covenant is the Jew god's promise that they can have 2,500 slaves each. Their god praises them for enslaving others. Los Angeles represents Noah's Ark, a diversity of "animals" as a hub of nation's. Noah is derived from a western Indian name NAvaHO.
West of Orion street in Los Angeles is a street named Mason. Freemasons plan to nuke Los Angeles the way they nuked Manhattan on 9/11. They use nukes to loot nations, technically making slaves of citizens by stealing money invested. CFR is a Freemason-Jew-controlled organization that works to make slaves of all workers by battling in court with bogus arguments that they are trying to get USA judges to turn into law. If their bogus arguments win then CFR members can act as masters over slaves.
I'm sure my comment will be deleted or the video will be removed from Youtube after this is said: the three lights seen at 0:01 represent Orion's Belt, the constellation of stars that represent the biblical 3 kings. Orion's Street is near a bakery in Los Angeles, in the center of the San Fernando Valley (SFV). SFV really stands for Satanic Freemason Victory because masons built U.S. Bank in downtown Los Angeles to nuke it when they nuke Santa Monica to put Los Angeles UNDER WATER, seen at 0:02.
i've stayed in london for one year ,, since i left London i am gloomy and felling bad ,, i wish i could get the chance to visit London one day before i die .. miss london and londoners .. this video makes me cry .. baker street i miss you much .
What a great video... thank you for adding your story to it... such a great song, and the addition of the saxophone was a stroke of genius... it oozes charm and sex appeal!
this song reminds me my honeymoon in London, we also visited Baker Street and the Sherlock Holmes Museum in our very 1st day there. we had great times there.
I've always loved this song. Maybe my all time favourate. Never got into Gerry's music that much, but just lately I have heard more and more. I can honestly say that from what I have heard, there isn't one track that I dislike. Wish I'd got into his music before. Sorry to hear that he has passed on. RIP
i fell in love with this song as soon as i heard it.love the sax.srry to here gerry rafferty passed but his music is timeless and will be around for generations to enjoy
I heard this song on an episode of "Family Guy", i loved it and started looking for it. Thankfully many people who see the show knew the song :) NOW ITS one of my faves....i dont know... but so MANY memories come rushing in when i hear this song :\ ... bittersweet. im 18.
SURELY ONE of the GREATEST & most POWERFUL musical pieces 'ever'. GR was a GENIUS. As Billy Connoly says " I just knew lots of tunes [when Humblebumming way back] but Gerry was a TRUE musician.
"The tune is so catchy, it could linger in your brain for a long time."
I first heard it on a cassette of my mom's when I was 6or 7 year's old. She listened to that tape for years and then never again when she got a car with a cd player. Never knew the name, but I know the tune to that solo by heart. It has taken me upwards of 10 years to find out the name of that song.... AND THEN I CAME STRAIGHT TO YOUTUBE.
I heard this in the summer of 1978 on Cape Cod, bored and trying to fall asleep, trying to dial in some good radio station.
I WILL buy my 32,000 acres in Africa, get the band together and host the BEST concert ever. And yes, I will sing this song. You are invited to sit with the cheetahs and the caracals, impalas and giraffes and listen to one of the best songs ever echoing off the mountains and over the veldt. It's my 32,000 acres and it's going to be fucking awesome. Oh, and bring friends.
Oh wow. I come here to listen to Baker Street, and get a Justin Bieber ad before it... Oh well, Gotta endure a bit of pain before you can enjoy something good.
who wuolda thought the sax part was riginally for guitar.... "damn our guitarist isnt here...." "well i got my sax i could try that see how it goes" number 1 for 6 weeks -.- so glad i can play it :)
i´ve heard this played by my parents when i was young, im now 25. 2 days ago this melody started playing in my head for no reason. I havent the song since years, now its giving me goosebumbs.. (the sax part mainly).. Only wish it had a different drum beat..
probably one of the best songs ever written; it can transmit feelings. Sax simply delightful! Thank you for sharing your experience with this wonderful video. The story of the song is amazing: a man who dreams about leaving his neighbourhood and buying a house but he can not because he is a drunk. No words.
If there was ever a song that made me want to learn the Sax, this is definitively it. Thank you for posting the song (and your story). This song will always have a special place in my heart.
Man, I've been looking for this song for 7 years no lie, not knowing the song name or who the artist was until I ran across on a jukebox playing and I was like "YES, FINALLY." Simply amazing. Life is complete.
Rest In Peace Mr. Baker Street. After all these years I still feel a unique ecstasy rush through every fiber of my being every time I listen to this timeless melody, just like the first time 30 some years ago.
I wish to express my contempt towards Gods of Eden by giving them my mid finger for taking away Gerry Rafferty from earth, he should have been immortal.
Dammm, I live in Australia and Just came back from holland, nederland. WE went from amsterdam to heathrow. I wish we stayed in london for a while. I wanna go.
@cglodzik I totally agree. Everytime I hear this song,I'm looking forward to the saxophone-solo. And each time the sax comes on,I get goosebumps!!!!! Relaxing music :-D
I used to hear this song all the time on my radio station. I could totally relate to
being in a souless city. But like the end--I got out and know am in a souless little town of 5,000. About the song--I love this song because of not only the words, but
that saxophone is brillant!!! I loved the saxophone in this song and also the guitar. But it was the saxophone that really drew me into the song. One of the greatest songs of all time!!!
Wanted to also add that it is one of the greatest pop songs of all time. I have listened to this song about 500 times. Still not bored. Also contains one of the best guitar solos of all time
Just wanted to correct your credits. This song featured the great Henry Spinetti on drums. Liam played drums on the Night Owl, Snakes and Ladders and Sleepwalking albums but not on City To City.
all big cities are essentially soulless, but London, like all big cities, has beautiful little nooks and crannies; RIP gerry, hope you have finally found your happiness
This song was a symphonic metal song long before anyone knew what that was. WHAT A CLASSIC! A masterpiece really.

Never knew the name, but I know the tune to that solo by heart. It has taken me upwards of 10 years to find out the name of that song.... AND THEN I CAME STRAIGHT TO YOUTUBE.
love that sax.

Gerry Gafferty, the original Epic Sax Guy.
JimmytheTexan1441 3 months ago
@JimmytheTexan1441 well he wrote it with a guitar in mind ( you can find the original demo with no sax) , the sax is Ralph Ravenscroft.
But you are right it is a fine piece of sax-a-ma-phone
deadbydayinblack 3 months ago
@JimmytheTexan1441 A man named Raphael Ravenscroft wrote and played the Sax part. Not Gerry.
Raphael Ravenscroft is the Original Epic Sax Guy.

How great a talent was Gerry Rafferty! What a loss to music. It seems Gerry never gave up the booze this probably led to his demise. How sad.

probably one of the best songs ever written; it can transmit feelings. Sax simply delightful! Thank you for sharing your experience with this wonderful video. The story of the song is amazing: a man who dreams about leaving his neighbourhood and buying a house but he can not because he is a drunk. No words.
