I just remember reading the book. It stated that it takes 2 werewolves to kill a vampire. Plus Edward can read Jacobs mind so he knows his every move. He is also faster I read somewhere that vampires can move so fast they only appear as a blur to the human eye.

yeaah they appear a blur to the human eye in the books and film but werewolves are made to kill vampires and Edward is like one of the only ones that can read peoples minds (Aro can but only if he is touching the person) so really say it was against carlisle then carlisle wouldnt know what to do or say it was against ... Esme she wouldnt be able to read there minds either so therefore they dont know really what to do so they dont know every move unless you're Edward, Aro or Alice... you see??
