I'm very cynical about movies, but I actually think of all the sports themed movies I've seen, they tend to be more good than bad. (I'm not including the really silly older Disney movies starring Kurt Russell, Tommy Kirk and invisible pirate's ghosts; which while not bad, are probably not examples of good sports movies.) Movies like Karate Kid, Lucas and Rudy are legitimately good to great. Movies such as Rookie of the Year, I mean, it's silly, but it's supposed to be silly; it's a fun movie.
