fun watching others techniques....i inherited a winding machine through the generosity of bill and pam moennig made by old machinist that worked at moennigs.......over 50years old simple perfect design and invaluable.......you would get a kick out of it i m sure
@keyzo1956 I would love to know more about this winding machine and see some pictures!! Please contact me through my website (YouTube won't let me put a link to my website here, but it can be seen if the first few seconds of the videos.) Thanks.
Thanks for the question HSTrueMan. The white part that holds the upper part of the bow was made from ~.5" thick felt that was made for piano hammers. I got it from the guy that tunes my piano. I know of someone that made this part from several thicknesses of an old mouse pad, cut and glued together. All you really need is something that is a bit stiff, but has some softness to it to hold the bow in the right place and to prevent it from getting scratched as it turns in the fixture.
Beautiful work and excellent video! Can I ask you what you used on the tip end of the bow which is holding the stick? (It's white in color-The part inside the round wood opening.) Much thanks!
