Ohhhh, someone is talking about the root cause of everything here ...
It was almost succeeded around the century's turn...
This was called the Axis...
That great emerging was so close that the enemies of the Central-Eutropean realm of culture beauty and other values thave found an envy horde to provoke wwi which was indeed triggered to destroy what was working so brilliant that very few empires in human history...
Very difficult my friend. I'm, as a faithfull Austro-Hungarian could not find even a single badge I could wear on my jacket all around in Hungary. I suppose they don't want us to remeber the greatest times of one of the highest cultural empire in mankinds' history...
No problem, We will be back to act a strong and precious unity again, very soon !
It's indeed one of the most gorgeous anthemns ever written I've just don't know for sure if Haydn was originally wrote it Austria-Hungary or for the German Reich hersef ?
I did not know the history of our anthem properly even if I have been spending more and more time with investigating the option of the reestablishment of the Austria-Hungary.
Roughly a year ago I wrote a detailed article of the idea to measure the local standpoint concerning the idea. This was published in some Hungarian national sites and this year I plan to trigger a joint Austrian-Hungarian dispute over the topic somewhere and somehow.
My greatest obstruction with this is to properly translate my writing from my native Hungarian to German which was essetial to start a discussion over the topic. I gathered a massive amount of further information and local feed back as well as faced numerous update which affects the implementation of an idea like that. Anyway, I wil try to make a new writing upon that and try to translate it at least into English trying to upload it to Austrian sites as well awaiting for the Austrian reaction.
What we, Austrian and Hungarian Austro-Hungarians can definitely do is to organise a joint demonstration here or there (or in both countries even) to divert some spotlight to our intention.
Can anyone of You please provide me with access(es) to double-monarch interested Austrian communities ?
@kewin3417 Franz Josef Haydn wrote it in 1794, impressed by the British "God Save the King", and wrote it for Emperor Franz II of the Holy Roman Empire of the German People (as it was called). When the empire was dissolved by Napoleon in 1806, the song stuck to Kaiser Franz, now the 1st, of the new Austrian empire, which included Hungarian,Croatian, Polish, Slovenian, and Croatian lands (Transylvania, Banat, and Ruthenia were parts of the empire then also). ......(cont)
@kewin3417 So, when the republic of Austria abolished the beautiful and historical anthem along with the monarchy that had brought Austria into existence, the Germans took it up as part of their heritage also. Please don't think the Germans stole it. Actually, they took it up -ironically- when they abandoned their own monarchy in favor of a republic and replaced "Heil Dir im Siegerkranz" (with the music to "God Save the King") with this anthem that had its origin from a German speaker.
@ZulcaCarpathius Nope. It was the masonic French, the arrogant British (who kindly forgot the many years of good relations between the two states), the whorish, self serving Italians, and the selfish Americans, intent upon destroying the Monarchy.
@Purplecatsoup30 The piggish Clemenceau turned down Kaiser Karl's peace overtures (and thereby contributed to more massacre and destruction, and also to a brutal "peace" treaty with Germany that empowered the Nazis), a Lloyd George forgetful of two centuries of British "balance-of-power" policies, the Italian desire to unite Italian portions of the empire to their nation (taking German, Slovenian, and Croatian portions as well), and the ingenuous Wilson ignorant of Europe's complexity.
@ZulcaCarpathius Not true that Jews and Freemasons were guilty. Radical ethnic claims, the greed of the Allied powers, the ignorant idealism of Wilson, and the disorder of the Socialists and Communists were the principal causes.
God return us our Monarchy

Ich wünschte, die Haydn Melodie wäre wieder die österr. Nationalhymne. Ausserdem die Habsburger anstatt des Bundespräsidenten. -_-
