You're pretty awesome. I can't lie. I'm a freshman I have played the trumpet for 3 years in the school band. Haha, I can play a triple F, but I can't put in songs. It's really pinched and it sounds terrible, but I can play it. But the trumpet isn't really an instrument for soft and beautiful tones. You can make it pretty and smooth and add emotion, but I want to play a saxophone. It's nice.

And here's the second post! You have you scales settled and your overtones are awesome. but as previously mentioned I think it lacks soul because it's done "after the book" if you know what I mean. There's not much use of ornamentation at all. (flagiato, vibrato, bending, etc). My advice to you is to practice ornamentation and look around for a different mouthpice, a different neck and a different reed. Look for a mouthpiece with a bigger opening : ) But all in all very good!

Hey dude! : ) Nice cover, but I miss the soul in it :( You sound a lot like a classic musician trying to do something a jazz musician would do. For instance in this song you play the main melody in the second octave instead of using it as the harmoniser when you get to the chorus. Using the first octave would give us a better feeling for this song considering the original is "vocally" sung pretty deep and thus it gives us the appropriate feeling the song needs to convey. Yes!! Wear out your scales and make them a daily part of your warm-up. Also find a few saxophone players you really like (Like Brian here ^_^) and listen to as much of them as you can.

If you can afford them, private lessons are wonderful too. Especially if you like the guy's style and he's a good teacher.
