Instead of doing this he could've focused his efforts into Tae Kwon Do! He would be a master with Trophies and recognitions, now he . . . . just went out of style along with the game.
@maverickx526 Though they're different things, one can say the same about other hobbies: "It's just a sport, why take it so seriously?" or "It's just a piano, why take it so seriously?"
If one is passionate about something, they must pursue it regardless if it's "a waste of their life". It's really up to the person to decide whether or not something would be a waste of time to them. :D
That's probably why this guys traded in martial arts for freestyle arts.
@luigiluigix2 Well said, reminds me of this quote: "Remember there's no such thing as wasting life as long as you have the courage to do what you like and be passionate about it." -John the Translator, GSL
Jeez, I just wish I could find an arcade around here. US version of Exceed was nice, but when I got it for the PSP, they got rid of Yoo Seung Jun's songs. Sucks.
tbm le entro al pump...la mayoria de pasos que hago en caution lo copie de este patita...pero aunque trato despues de 2 años en el pump no puedo igualarlo... :D
jeez people. if you ask me there's only two kinds of players: speedsters and freestylers. The whole point of PIU is to DANCE. saying this guys style aint accurate doesnt matter in the PIU community coz when you freestyle you dance. If you're a speeder then maybe accuaracy matters, A BIT. Ive only been playing for about a year but i know my crap. just proud to say i got an S on Rolling Xmas once
the big moves are kool but i think it kills the flow. something more simple would be better. it just seems to not go with the ryhthm, but hey what do i know? Comment me niggaz!
because freestyle means you dance freely and pay less to no regard to timing and accuracy unlike speed players. you obviously don't play freestyle seeing as though you agree to something that most true freestyle players don't care much.
"...timing and accuracy unlike speed players" Not quite. Speed players tend to play the hardest songs and care only about passing. Yes they care about timing and accuracy but not as much as a PA player, who'd play lesser songs but get higher scores. It doesn't matter which category you fit into though as you still need decent PA to win score based competitions. Freestyle's a different kettle of fish though, as you rightly stated. ;)
So PA players are speeders? :/ That makes no sense. If PA players also prefered faster songs don't you think many would've AAA'd the likes of Paranoia Survivor by now? Usually I see 7s/8s being AAA'd instead of 9s/10s by them. I should know, since I was friends with one and his AAA list barely had any 9s.
your 7's and 8's have speeds of more or less 140bpm and above. typical kinds of songs you'd be hearing in ddr, by the way you're comparing things. and if i noticed things correctly, this game ain't ddr to begin with.
I knew that! It's Pump It Up, a 5 panel dance game that should NEVER be compared to DDR and ITG. Factors like loose timing windows and the ability to have Stage Break off (depends on arcade of course) means that PIU is less about being technically accurate and more about being fun. Yes it can be difficult (e.g. Chimera NM) but that depends on what YOU, the player wants.
Reason I went off-topic was to make a point about PA and speed players, that's all. :)
although you must note that PA players in PIU are as rare as endangered species. that's why you're quite puzzling as to why even mentioning them in this game. and as for your AAA and 7's and 8's, do use something from PIU itself. kinda lacking cred that way...
putting this much emphasis on timing and accuracy (which most americans, being firstly influenced by DDR, would do) will not only be unhelpful to the freestyle, but will also get the player steer away from focusing on the performance of the routine choreography and ruin the entire freestyle. and that is what freestyle really is.
I don't know man, I knew of PUMP a long before I even heard of DDR. I know that DDR was there for the PS, but I don't know if it was the ACTUAL DDR, it was something stupid like Dance Mix or w/e. Either way for me, I first played PIU back in 1998
Wait I think you are right. :p I asked some ppl and they all said PIU also came out in 1998 as far as they know, although DDR still came out earlier. Sorry about the confusion.
Smidget had better footwork on this song, but thats all he had going for him in his video. This dude had good moves besides Cwalkin the whole song. both Dancers were GODLIKE. lulz
smidget reigns over this guy...because smidget hardly ever looks at the screen, he knows his routine...this guy is still shakey on his routine...u can tell when they try too hard, they are a lil jittery
does that even matter in freestyle? or are you just pointing out that you don't know that this was so many years before wpf and that "not looking at the screen" thing you're blabbering about?
this guy is good and all but i dunno i think smidget just looks better in his routine. i mean yea this guy does more ridiculous moves and the flow is good to, but its kinda edgy at times and plus he does to much in my opinion ( i think it fucks with the flow of the song) i dunoo mabye im just biased cuz i saw smidgets routine first but his flow is just really good with the song and looks more like dancing.
I like this one better. The part that keeps me coming back for more is that ridiculous slide at 1:48. I've noticed that most of the PUI vids have somebody doing this but his is so pronounced. I believe Smidget is overrated, if very talented.
The only issue I have with this routine is that it's not that well controlled. It's ambitious, varied and pulled off with plenty of flair, but it's still rough around the edges; he's not in full control of what he's doing, whilst Smidget is putting on a much smoother performance. For the sheer energy required though, this is miles above, and if I'm honest... it's still more impressive.
Oh, and the poncing around on the song select makes me wince.
this is freestyle in its most raw form. it doesn't care for precision. not unless improvisation's a little unfamiliar to you.
and as for smidget's "smooth" performance, his stunts don't exactly register much to the machine at actual routine play. his shows are just shows in most cases. smooth... shows.
I think I like Smidgets better because it flows. This guy just chops together a bunch of fancy movies but it doesnt flow with the music and it doesnt make me want to move. There is no doubt that this guy is good. I just like to watch Smidgets better.
his "flow" is like spilled milk, for that matter. he strings together the most unlikely of steps that don't have much of an association with each other just to put up a stunt that goes well with the arrows presented.
what kind of an object even got the chance to hit your head for you to even think of comparing the two? they obviously had very different approaches toward the song.
He fucked that matrix walk, I dunno why anyone got excited about that. He just kicked the machine really hard. That would have had me booing him. What a douche.
