Dean was even great at country music songs and even al jolson songs the man was a genious he brightened up songs that others destroyed , and did not mind looking stupid for a laugh, you cannot say that for many entertainers..best all time entertainer .

I made a point of watching the awards when I heard Dean was on the list. I got so furious at the lack of respect the bunch of no talent twits showed him. As far as I'm concerned they deserved less than they gave Dean. MUCH less. Isn't it almost as if they felt threatened by someone that actually had talent?

This so-called "tribute" to Dean Martin was an absolute disgrace. It was probably produced by somebody who had no clue who Dino was and wouldn't recognizr true talent if it bit him in the ass. Queen Latifah? Follwed by rap guys who couldn't hold Dino's cigarette pack. 

Dino was a class act - smooth as silk. Grammys should be ashamed.

Dean Martin could SING! Screw the Grammies and anyone else that doesn't appreciate his superb talent(s); they don't matter.

I read an interview with him once in which he said he was always singing as a kid, and it nearly drove his mama nuts, LOL. Anyway, he said that, "The day I found out that people would pay me to sing was the happiest day of my life!" And he gave many, many other people many happy days with his singing. God bless the soul of Dean Martin!

The rest of the awards show was not worth watching if you were interested in Dean's award. That tribute was not even 1.5 minutes long. So very disappointing. The award was accepted the evening before the actual grammys. At least Dean's grandson Alex (Dino Jrs son) was intereviewed very briefly. Deana was in the audience with Alex. You just couldnt blink as the camera was on them tho.

I totally agree. I couldn't believe that they called this a "tribute" but he did receive a lifetime achievement award and supposedly there was a ceremony before the actual Grammy awards for all of the lifetime awards. Even still, Dean Martin was one of a kind and they could've done something a little more special for him...

Dino was (and remains) truly the coolest and classiest of all entertainers. Handsome, sexy, funny and blessed with a beautiful voice, he's beloved by both women and men of all ages...I never tire of listening to his music or watching his performances. For my fellow Dino lovers out there, I highly recommend that you attend the Dean Martin festival held annually in Steubenville, Ohio.

I give 5 stars for Dean, but ZERO stars for the idiots that put on the Grammys. They give Dean Martin the Lifetime Achievement Award, and the presentation lasts about 20 seconds! If you blinked you missed one of his daughters and a grandson in the audience. If they are going to honor someone, show some clips for crying out loud. Grammys, do it right or don't do it at all! And, considering most of the garbage "sung" during the show, having Dean singing would have added much needed class.

Im borderline obsessed with Dean Martin and when I was watching the Grammys and this came on I got so excited I couldnt stand it. All my friends and family text me asking if I saw. I was all smiles the rest of the night, even now when I see it I get butterflies, lol. I love that man soooo much!!!! My number 1 by far!

It was wonderful that they honored Dino. It was just a shame that they didn't play some of his music with him singing. They gave lifetime awards and icon awards but did not go into what made these performers sooo good! What a pity!!
