I remember doing this myself, exactly the same way :P. I managed to run aaaaaaaaalllllllll the way down to the centre o the compass on the map xD. It was great hanging around "Elswer"

you can get completely out of the map past the barrier that you could not get past before but dont go to far or you will fall down and DIE!!!!!

u don't have to have an expert skill in athletics and acrobatics, u can use the paintbrushes to make steps and climb out of the town

With Open Cities thatnever happen, cuz' the city and the land are in diferent cells- that's the "glitch"- and the outside is just a bunch of LOD meshes.

What I know of you can get out of the maps in: Anvil, Bruma, and even Kvatch. I know that there are more but I forget how to do them.
